Posted April 25, 200916 yr http://www.thecinemasource.com/moviesdb/images/Obsessed-Poster-Idris_Elba-Beyonce_Knowles-Ali_Larter.jpg Who's going to check this out then? It's being marketed as a 'thriller'. The basic plot is as so: Sharon (Beyonce - yes, really, they called her Sharon) and Derek (Idris Elba of RocknRolla) are happily married with a kid. He's a high-flyer and at the beginning of the film they move into a new home in Los Angeles. At work an attractive temp, Lisa (Ali Larter), begins flirting with him but soon because obsessed (!). I think it looks hilarious, strictly in the so-bad-its-amazing sense. Awful reviews, laughable trailers. I'm desperate to see it!
April 25, 200916 yr There were posters for this EVERYWHERE in New York. It looks awful, I can't wait to see it :kink:
April 25, 200916 yr As much as I like Idris Elba and Ali Larter (both way too talented as actors to be playing second fiddle to the likes of Beyonce imo...)... Sounds like a total rip-off of "Fatal Attraction" as well tbh, with Larter playing the Glenn Close "bunny boiler" role....... Would be "straight-to-dvd" had it not had the high-profile casting of Beyonce or "Heroes" star Larter..... Brit actor Idris Elba (who played Stringer Bell in the magnificent series 'The Wire') is also a rising star in the US.... One for downloading methinks.....
April 25, 200916 yr I want to get loaded and go see this and scream and heckle and throw popcorn at the screen.
April 26, 200916 yr Ali Larter is fabulous. I've loved her ever since Legally Blonde Quite sadly i'm so excited i found it and Love Actually on my external hard drive today, i didn't bring the DVD's to Aus. Thought a dvd wallet full of Chick Flicks would give the wrong first impression.
April 26, 200916 yr Author Or skipping altogether :heehee: Girl, please. You gon' be gagging to see this mess.
April 26, 200916 yr Girl, please. You gon' be gagging to see this mess. whilst my music isnt known for its "impeccable taste", i would like to think that my film taste is the closest thing to it -_-
April 27, 200916 yr Ali Larter is fabulous. Ali Larter is, indeed, v.cool, and I'm sure she'll be nothing less than the consummate professional and give 100% to the film, but is the script/film gonna be actually worthy of her (and Idris Elba's) talents as actors.....? I'm very unconvinced...... This is pretty much a blatant remake/retread of "Fatal Attraction" given a different name, and that film was barely worthy of the talents of Glenn Close and Michael Douglas, and that was the original "bunny boiler" movie..... The success of Fatal Attraction spawned SOOOOOO many "direct to video" copycats, I really dont see how this is any different to one of those, apart from it having a better, more high-profile cast than those seriously iffy DTV efforts back in the day.....
April 27, 200916 yr I saw this movie because I LOOOOVE Ali Larter... she was the only actress worth a $h!t in the movie. Yeah Beyonce and the dude that played her husband were ok, but next to Ali they looked... :manson: . Anyways the movie deserved to be on Hallmark channel at best, it was too long and just left a bad taste in my mouth, the whole film seems to have been produced by Beyonces family and I think that's one of the main reasons she got the part, but I will give her the fact that she was better then I expected. The only things that save this movie are Ali Larter and her amazing acting skills and the fight scene between her and Beyonce at the end of the movie. (is it bad that I was hoping Ali's character would beat Beyonce's ass even though she was the psycho? ... no, I don't think so.)
April 28, 200916 yr Anyways the movie deserved to be on Hallmark channel at best I rest my case.... So, what you're saying is that it's even worse than a Direct-to-DVD movie.....?
April 28, 200916 yr So, what you're saying is that it's even worse than a Direct-to-DVD movie.....? No... only on the grounds that this film is amazing exposure for Ali Larter, and she really shines throughout the movie, and I think most people will notice that, besides 15 year old Beyonce fanatics who will be thrilled by her scripted cursing. But on all other grounds, yes. PS - Ali did all her fight scenes that the company would allow, and alot of Beyonces were stunt double.
