'X Factor' Lorenzo splits from EMI

WENNX Factor star Ruth Lorenzo has confirmed that she has split from her record company EMI.

 

The Spanish singer, who appeared in the 2008 series of the ITV1 reality show, signed a deal in April last year and had been working on her debut album.

 

However, in a blog post earlier this week, Lorenzo revealed that she had parted ways with the label because of "creative differences".

 

"Many of you have been asking about my forthcoming album, a project which has been in development for two years," she said.

 

"I have been working with some extremely talented writers and producers on a collection of songs of which not only I am proud of, but which represents who I am as an artist, writer and performer - an album that is true to my character and that hopefully will stand the test of time."

 

She continued: "It is with this artistic integrity at heart, that I have decided to part with my label, EMI - due to creative differences to pursue my career as an independent artist.

 

"Throughout this time I have been overwhelmed by your support and enthusiasm - you have given me the energy to wake up every day and fight for what I believe in. This album was not just for me - it was for you - my fans - and the very reason that it has taken so much time to get where we are today is because I was trying to make an album that you deserve, not another expendable pop record that remains forgotten in time."

 

Lorenzo said that she would be funding her debut album herself with help from fans, who in return would be given "cool exclusives, signed limited editions, visits to the studio, signed original artwork and much more".

 

Speaking about the tracklisting of her record, she revealed that the titles included 'Elevate', 'I Am', 'Bloodline', 'Burn', 'Eternity', 'For Ever After', 'Infinity', 'Feel the Drums' and 'Hands up'.

 

Really unfortunate - but they needed to get it out last year tbh, she's pretty forgotten about now </3

I don't think the public would've clicked with her anyway; or even remember her. :lol:

Ruth Lorenzo is my favourite X Factor contestant out of all series so I really hope that her album does materialise someday. Shame she's parted from her record label but if she was unhappy with EMI then I guess leaving was best, at least she will be creating music that she wants to and likes. Good luck to her.

Ya, the very best of luck to her, she is also my faveourite x factor contestant ever and i would love to see her have some success.

Apparently despite her trouble with EMI, she WILL be releasing her debut album through self-funding. Her lead single according to her official website is called Burn and she streamed an acoustic performance of both the song and a full acoustic cover of Purple Rain, which have since uploaded onto her youtube account.

seen this on her site age's ago she asked her fan's to fund it target was 15k and she only got 4k so i wont be expecting to hear a single off her anytime soon she's has been forgot about a long time ago sadly

 

Plus i like the original verison of 'burn' by francis rodino ALOT more he seem's to make it sound alot more meaningfull then Ruth ...
