May 7, 200916 yr I don't find Little Boots different. I find La Roux good and original. However, I do love New In Town. New In Town is excellent and would be a deserved UK No.1 single I think but I don't think any of her other material (now we've heard most of her album solely from this contest :heehee:) warrants her being #1 in all of the hype lists over La Roux, Florence and the like...I didn't give any points to Meddle, Stuck On Repeat or Every Little Earthquake I don't think, and Mathematics got 2 or 3 points because that was my favourite...all of the songs made my voting shortlists quite easily though ^_^ I won't divulge how much support I've given You're Out :kink:

I still really like Every Little Earthquake, but I could never see it as a hit. She has too many, just ordinary songs, that's the problem. La Roux songs are fresh, and something you don't hear from any other act, she's special and I think that's why she deserves the success.
May 7, 200916 yr LOL at the backlash  nobody's said a bad word about it :P it's hardly up there with the Headhunted/Release Me style revolts :heehee:

My whole family hate La Roux already  I can't believe In For The Kill has been so huge, it seems like such an acquired taste of a song! Little Boots will appeal to just about anyone, her album will probably be a lot more marketable than La Roux's will be based on the fact that she's easier on the ears. I guess it's this 'safeness' if you like which is why she was placed at the top of the hype lists over La Roux who I always considered could go either way...I thought In For The Kill would be a low top 20 hit and that would be about it, but she looks as if she'll defy the odds quite substantially :w00t: I do find it ironic that of all the Little Boots' songs sent to the contest, the only one that could actually have been a winner (New In Town) managed to avoid being sent

Every time I play it or it's on TV, my mum says "It would be a decent song, but why does she have to sing in a stupid high pitch?!"

Every time I play it or it's on TV, my mum says "It would be a decent song, but why does she have to sing in a stupid high pitch?!" I saw her live in March supporting Lily Allen and she was fascinating to watch she was obviously quite shy and needs more confidence performing live, she didn't interact much with the audience, we might as well have not been there, but her voice was 100% the same as on record, oddly high pitched but she pulls it off perfectly ^_^ all 5 of the songs she did were fantastic too, not just good but great

I don't think it's as strong as any of her previous entries here. I guess it's the song that people who didn't like her before seem to like but I don't know if fans of "Meddle", "Stuck On Repeat" etc. would take to it as much. Personally, I think "Stuck On Repeat" and "Meddle" are her most different sounding songs (despite me awarding nothing to the latter) and worthy of all this attention. As much as I love "Earthquake", "Mathematics" and "New In Town", they aren't quite as exciting. They're quite Kylie-esque. But I suppose the first two finished top 5 and the other entries missed the top 10 so I guess being more mainstream is necessary.
May 7, 200916 yr I really dont see any fascination in all these 2009 new sounds...in my eye/ear this year we wont see Adele/Duffy, and mainly having WW success...maybe i'm wrong.
May 7, 200916 yr Addy, I only just noticed your flag! Are you from Kosovo, or it that just your flag? Quite an unusual country for people to be from on BJ!

May 7, 200916 yr No lol your English is very good! I just saw the flag! Kosovo fascinates me - I'd love to have a weekend in Prishtina!
May 7, 200916 yr you're more than welcome :) but right now Im not in Kosovo, but where I work and what I do, I'm not gonna tell, mainly because this isnt the right topic for that :) sorry for O/T
May 7, 200916 yr I absolutely CAN'T STAND La Roux, but I like Bulletproof, so maybe it will change! Gotta be up early, bed now! Bye bye!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I know my top 8 songs, but I have a nightmare picking the last two. One is by a group of guys but really deserves to get through and I don't know how many other votes it will get, one I've only grown to love in the last few days but would feel bad if it didn't get through, and one's just awesome :drama:

I know three songs I'm giving points (though, oddly, they might not end up being my top 3) and I have a load of songs that I can't pick between for the other seven.
May 8, 200916 yr My mum and dead hate La Roux. Every time I play it or it's on TV, my mum says "It would be a decent song, but why does she have to sing in a stupid high pitch?!" LOL how true  Yes I am probably my poor english made u to ask me about that :kink: You don't have a poor English, I haven't noticed either that you're not British :o

May 8, 200916 yr You don't have a poor English, I haven't noticed either that you're not British :o Thats what I think aswell for you and Pavel :kink:, but that's because none of us aren't British lol.
