Posted May 13, 200916 yr pwunFnRmHUg It actually looks really good from the trailer! :o Features Skins stars, Michelle and Jal too, I've got a feeling it could be either a really good UK horror film (Eden Lake, The Descent) or just cheap and tacky. Hopefully it won't fall into the second option!
May 13, 200916 yr WOW! Loving the trailer! :o Although in parts it does look kinda cheesy horror :heehee: But that won't stop me from seeing it! I hope it's not as bad as 'Prom Night' though :(
May 13, 200916 yr I really want to see this, Theres this massive poster next to my Sixth Form.. At least they have their marketing right :heehee: Anyway i saw the trailer yday on TV and i wasnt to sure about it, i was far more drawn to the poster than the trailer so we have to wait and see.
May 22, 200916 yr I dont like "Skins" at all, but will give this a go, being a big Horror fan... Hoping for it to be a bit better than Eden Lake.... Rarely has a film disappointed me SOOOOOO much in the final act after having a really good, interesting and really promising start and middle.....
May 22, 200916 yr I quite wanna see this. I've heard mixed things though, so I dunno... still it looks my kind of film.
May 28, 200916 yr Author I saw this last night ... it was good, but it wasn't really scary. It has it's gory moments like when His eye pops out of his socket but there isn't alot really. It's also hard to tell whether it's trying to be funny at points and the plot is kind of ridiculous tbh, it has a good message about bullying but it's all so unbelievable tbh. And the ending is just SO predictable even if it tries to go for a twist LOL. It's a good film, and does have it moments, just don't expect anything TOO much. It's just a good enjoyable horror film, nothing more than that really.
May 28, 200916 yr To be honest, it's pretty amateur hour stuff.... And, frankly there isn't a single one of the characters you feel any remotest sympathy for, frankly all those horrid little b/astards get what they deserve, even the "Final Girl" who turns out to be just as big a stuck-up b/itch as the rest of them, and the "emo" characters are so utterly beyond pathetic they're not even funny..... The writers of this film have really fukked up on the script, with not having any point of identification or real sympathy at all, then, sorry, it's utterly pointless as a horror/slasher pic, because, the conventions of that genre state that you ALWAYS have to feel a bit of empathy for the heroine in these sorts of films, but ALL sympathy you may have felt for Justine is totally evaporated when it turns out that she is complicit in Darren's bullying by basically being so wrapped up in herself she's totally indifferent to the bullying and torture he suffers.... So, she survives, but ends up worse off because she's basically fitted up for the murders of about four of her classmates..... All in all, this is a pretty duff effort, and edited like some trashy music video to the point that with all its fast-cutting and shakey camerawork you cant even tell what's going on half the time, especially in one or two of the key murder sequences.... God, DONT DIRECTORS EVER HOLD A CAMERA STRAIGHT ANYMORE????? Seems to me that everybody thinks they're Paul Greengrass, Sam Raimi or David Fincher..... WELL, YOU'RE NOT!!!!!!! Tormented suffers from a severe case of not knowing what the fukk it wants to be... "is it horror..?", "is it comedy?" is it "comedy horror?" is it Zombie Grange Hill with the ghost of Fat Roland chopping up Gripper Stebson and his minions with a meat-cleaver (hell, at least THAT would be entertaining), who knows, because the film-makers sure as hell cant make up their minds... On the Posters it describes the film as "Scream for the Skins generation", jesus, what an insult to Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson that is, the first "Scream" film is an utter work of art compared to "Tormented", AND, it was nowhere near as ham-fisted with its humour and self-reflexive elements, Scream damn well KNEW what it wanted to be, right from the get-go and that fantastic opening sequence with Drew Barrymore, and it WORKED both in terms of humour and horror, whereas Tormented falls vastly short in all departments.... Also the fact that Scream had genuinely gifted actors to work with - ie Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Drew Barrymore, Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich and Courtney Cox....Here...? About the only one who acquits herself in any way as an actor is Tuppence Middleton (Justine), she might just have a chance of becoming something despite being in this awful, AWFUL pile of trash..... 4/10, and that's just for the gore (they at least got that one right)
