Azerbaijan: AySel & Arash - Always: Another ethnic start soon descends into a catchy Shakira track (coughs: Hips Don't Lie) with female vocals by a (more attractive) Nadine Coyle lookalike. Some shaky vocals but my goodness it has a catchy chorus. A definite Top 5 contender IMHO. 8

Hmm...wasn't too impressed with the vocals but it was still easily one of the best so far.

I love this, it's just so so beautiful. But not as beautiful as Iceland

this isn't bad actually, it's grown on me hugely...I don't like it as much as their excellent entry last year (Pokusaj) but I wouldn't mind if it went top ten (which it will)

Bosnia & Herzegovina: Regina - Bistra voda: 4 blokes who are clearly fans of Coldplay's Viva La Vida era image wise do a decent power ballad effort with a quite catchy hook. The vocalist reminds me soundwise of Enrique Iglesias. Another Top 10 contender IMHO. 7.5

Hmm...not sure about that. It's easily one of the catchiest songs in the contest but I'm not sure it would have chart success.

 

The slight mishap with the cloth on that performance just reminded me of Dima's jacket mess up at the beginning. :heehee:

Bosnia: Sounds like a theme-tune. But, I can't think what theme tune it is. Not a great theme tune, surely. Because, this isn't that great. The drums helped me get the feeling, but clearly not enough. 5/10

First minute and half of Moldova: brilliant. The rest: noise.

well Arash is famous in Europe, so Always could easily be a european hit

Moldova: Full marks for wacky dress sense. Not the best song, but it's very infectious, and the trumpets behind add to the fun. It's a fairly good song, but it's the fun and wackiness the make it what it is. And, for me, what it is, is very good. And, 8/10

I quite like Moldova's entry, it's quirky.
