The problem with that would be that the older participants might be at a disadvantage because they have to pick older songs. On the plus side, they'll have the most choice, unlike those born from 1989-91. (which I expect would be the most common years)

Oh LOL I was actually thinking about sending a Mariah song, but not "Obsessed". Then again, a 19 year old track would probably flop hard.

 

But I just had a brain wave for the next spin off (since y'all hate on remixes). The year you were born? :magic: Since we're in our teens (or older) that means most of the songs would be deemed 'too old' for the main contest and therefore something that might suit being a spin off?

 

The only down sides I can see is that I doubt most of us will know or listen to songs from our birth year that wouldn't be seen as cheap. Mine wouldn't be, but if I couldn't use Mariah I'd be lost. :lol:

 

I love this idea. :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: Quite frankly I don't care if it means sending something prehistoric to the ears of most of you, because to me that is the whole point of spin offs: to send something you would not normally consider sending in a normal contest.

As it is a spin off I'm up for anything, as I treat it like an International Football Manager treats a friendly, it is the time to really experiment.

 

I was born in 1987, but wouldn't send something obvious like Always On My Mind by Pet Shop Boys, I'd try and search a little deeper...

This is what I meant by people going for the cheaper options in their year. :heehee: It's hard not to know anything, other the big hits, from when you were younger than one year old.

ANYWAY, Kopecka will be taking precautionary measures and reserving Mariah, Shakira, Girls Can't Catch and others...

I would be in the 1991 area........I looked it up on wikipedia for 1991 songs and I didn't recognise any of the songs by there names :lol:

I remember when i was about 9 i used to listen to the radio VERY MUCH but without learning song's names. That's why i know all the lyrics of song were popular back to these days but couldn't say how they're called :lol:

People have suggested Christmas spin-offs in the past though but I kind of like being able to enter Christmas songs in the real thing...regardless of whether they do well :P
