Wow, the juries killed Spain and Sweden :o And it's probably because of them Greece ranked quite low aswell. Televoters must have really not liked Germany...

Your thoughts?

Not that I know of

Maybe the juries were pissed off because of the stunts Spain pulled in the run up ... moving Semi's and then not showing it live etc? But it's unfair to penalise Soraya because of that stuff, so possibly not. Just odd!

the Swedish juries didn't even like La Voix in Melodifestivalen (it won on the public vote after coming 8/11 with juries) so it's hardly surprising that international juries didn't like it

There's certainly more of a Western influence. Russia is crushed. Azerbaijan and Turkish uprisings quelled. United Kingdom, France and Denmark much improved. Actually, I sort of liked Denmark, but I mean, it was generic. No way should it surpass Azerbaijan.

Block voting seems to be reduced, which was the whole goal of the juries. Sweden and Finland were two big recipients of the Scandinavian vote in the overall contest, and without their blond comrades they would have wound up much like this jury result. However, Denmark improved, so it's hard to interpret.

I had forgotten Spain, to tell you the truth, and had to look it up on youtube to get a refresher. I think Spanish music rocks in general, but this entry was just too stereotypical Eurovision, IMO. It was utterly forgettable Europop. So, yeah, I think it deserved to bomb.

Finland was picked by the Jury in the Semi... they must have been TOO desperate

Poor Spain :snif:

I don't know why Germany is higher - it was vile throughout. Didn't Dita have a wardrobe malfunction at the dress rehearsal though? In which case it proves that the jury was a bunch of old pervs :kink:

Sucks for the UK and (especially) France though :snif:

I agree about Germany. I mean wtf? :/ She was not allowed to take her clothes off in the show, or the country could be DSQ'd :heehee:

Spain flopped massively because the rehearsal sounded like a cat being thrown into a tumble dryer...

And I'd be far more interested to see the televoting results :o

Even 2008's Chikilicuatre was better at singing than her, i agree

but the juries based on what to give such votes???

I mean how can a jury give more points do Azerbaijan and give so few to Sweden??
