March 5, 201015 yr I'm not sure what your considering but Helen and the french track are both great :)
March 5, 201015 yr Author Unfortunately both of those are unlikely to go through for this contest :( I think Colette or Kat would have higher chances of doing well
March 7, 201015 yr Finally got around to listening to the last India.Arie album the other day. "Therapy" would have been a great entry. I can see why you chose Che'Nelle (she's more of a Jade Ewen soundalike, than an R&B artist) but I'm loving "Therapy" at the moment. If I had the nerve to send her to a main contest I'd consider sending it myself.
March 7, 201015 yr Author Therapy is brilliant, big hit in my personal chart. I think I did the right choice sending Che'nelle since I think she's more "hip" and probably cooler amongst the pop voters. I really couldn't see anyone getting down with India Arie, probably just you and I  Unfortunately so many genres are restricted in this contest, and this kind of more soulful R&B is definitely one of those.

Yeah, I definitely think you made the best choice as a BJSC entry. I'm not sure "Therapy" would qualify, but it's quite instant and catchy, so I can't tell. Maybe in the right semi. I agree that it's very restricted on here, I think my list of entries would look a lot different if I knew sending them wasn't in vain. Like you say, it's mostly the same crowd voting for them, it'd be rare for anyone outside the group to vote for them. It'd be much easier if I was a huge fan of Europop. :heehee: I'm not sure what my favourite of your new candidates are. I *like* Colette and Kat, but I'm not sure it'd be enough. I'd also say "Je Me Perds" (which was French R&B too?) was better than your other option and that qualified, but didn't do great in the final. :(
March 8, 201015 yr Author My list would probably be very different too. I mean I always send something I really like, but I never send songs I love from genres I love because I know they're doomed for failure, especially if its in another language. Leslie is pretty much tossed aside, as is Helena Paparizou, I just don't think either would work. Although people are still sending Alcazar and I think Helena's song is better. It will be between Colette and Kat, but I'm leaning towards Colette. I prefer Kat's song, but I think it might be too safe, Colette would be more of a risk.

I think my qualifying streak would have been over long ago. Luckily I kinda realised this after the major flop of my second entry ("No Substitute Love") It seems pointless to send something that'll struggle to appeal to people other than you, Simon, Jack, Aled etc. Even then there's no guarantee you'll all like it. Oh right. Personally I think Colette sounds more like a qualifier than Kat, if only because of Kat's past performances here.

Yeah, there are few of us that like it and even then we seem to differ sometimes in our taste on R&B. It doesn't help that Jark and Mikal have left the game either :( I think i'm pretty much done struggling with my decision and going with Colette (Addy will be disappointed...) Have you chosen your entry yet?

It doesn't help that Jark and Mikal have left the game either :( I think i'm pretty much done struggling with my decision and going with Colette (Addy will be disappointed...) Have you chosen your entry yet? Exactly. Yeah, they both decided they wouldn't carry on with this when they went to uni. Understandable I guess... Ooh alright! I was considering sending the other option I had last month, but I'll see what sort of entries get confirmed before I pick. It's a male song that isn't too different to Delphic. If we get a lot of similar entries I'll find something else.
March 8, 201015 yr LOL Andre I won't be dissapointed...and the comment toward Colette was only after 1st listen...and I listened to till the end which means I like it, but can't assure points when we still don't have a reservation thread open and let alone confirmation.
March 8, 201015 yr Author No don't promise points haha, I never do that ;) I just said you'd be disappointed because you loved Kat haha :D

I just hope I have something to vote for in the end that I really like.
March 19, 201015 yr Author Ok Colette is still in the running, but what do you guys think of these 2 new contenders? Tynisha Keli - Livin' A Lie YlHekgzvAL0 Kim Leoni - Go SKzBWrCC_Vw
March 20, 201015 yr My vote goes to Kim Leoni. Go should do better than Livin' a lie, as the latter lacks that special chorus, as you could say. Personally I don't even think Tynisha could qualify. Kim Leoni is dancy and really sticks! Have you heard Emergency btw? It's amazing! :D
March 20, 201015 yr Author Thanks for your response. I don't like Emergency actually, was a real letdown when I heard it :o Very Cascada-esque cheesiness imo
March 20, 201015 yr aww :( Well I guess you're somehow right on that part though. It's a bit Cascada, but I love the speed on it and how it builds up and then just shoots up forward with all this energy. I've never been too sure about what to call that part. The instrumental parts with the synths? Anyway, my taste only I guess.. I probably get that from my past in loving the eurodance genre! Oh well, if you do choose Go in the end though - I'll be sure to give you some points ^_^ On a side note, may I ask what you think of my song choice? :)
