September 15, 200915 yr Dont you just need the link, and then everyone can open it from the confirmed entries? Or have I misunderstood something?
September 15, 200915 yr Author Well yeah if I end up choosing it, but I dont think i'd get feedback over the song here without it being embedded. Lazy people :heehee: I'll add it to the post anyway :P

September 15, 200915 yr Laura Pausini – Tra Te E Il Mare 8/10 <3 Faith Hill – Cry 7/10 Another nice ballad. Andain – Beautiful Things 6.5/10 I like this quite a bit. Has potential to grow, too. Jessie James – I Look So Good Without You 5.5/10 Average pop song. Sade – King Of Sorrow 4/10 '*yawn* ;) LeeAnn Rimes – Suddenly 2.5/10 By far the worst of the bunch. And I even commented on Faith Hill.
September 15, 200915 yr Author Thanks for the comments. Surprised you dont like Sade, she's in a class of her own :o The problem with Pausini is her song is in italian. But maybe i'll take a risk and send her anyway. Its not like Cry would do much better, its country  as for Suddenly, maybe you prefer the original :heehee: FHEb-T8tOl8
September 15, 200915 yr If no one sends a foreign song, then it's likely those songs will never get a 'hold' on this contest.. and I really love a lot of them! But if more and more choose to send foreign songs.. then it can open up and enrich this contest a whole lot more :magic: I do think many people in here likes foreign songs, but the ones that has been sent, and DNQ'ed just wasn't good enough, probably. ..no one dares to enter those type of songs anymore as well either :( Edited September 15, 200915 yr by Freeze
September 15, 200915 yr Author I think its just the kind of community buzzjack is. People like foreign artists, but mostly if they sing in english. Unless they're Shakira haha  There is a similar competition over at Ukmix and I swear the foreign to english ratio is about 50% each, which is really pleasing :)

Which they can't get from foreign songs? Or maybe the songs that has been sent, haven't been all that good.. cause many obviously like something as seen in the foreign spin-off.. Ukmix, are you a part of that? is it almost like Buzzjack? Maybe I should check it out, you think? :) Edited September 15, 200915 yr by Freeze
September 15, 200915 yr Author I think it goes deeper than that. I think its part of the english culture and how most of them arent able to appreciate music sung in different languages. People from other countries are exposed to more than just their native language and are more open to it. Ukmix is pretty different to BJ imo, not as instantly appealing imo. Plus there are no artist forums and the rules are more strict. As for the competition, it isnt the same as this one, but its definitely a music competition.

That's a good thought, and it seems like a legitimate part of it. Also, in so many other countries there is a need to understand the english language, as well as compulsory learning it at school. In several (or many?) aspects of life, very much does comes down to how different kinds of culture affects people.. Maybe I should take quick look at least, do you have a link? September 15, 200915 yr Author Well for example here in Portugal we have to learn english as a 2nd language, a few others have french, german or spanish as an extra option. I know english and french, but while i'm pratically fluent in english, i'm only ok at french. But its not unusual to hear songs in other languages here on radio or tv, especially if its by a big artist from that certain country. Yes english is by far the biggest, but there is tolerance towards other languages, especially italian and spanish. We get MCM Top here which is a french music channel, good exposure to their musical culture. www.ukmix.org/forums

I guess you're quite right, but I do think Buzzjack should open up just a tad more, though, about foreign songs being sent and voted for, but I can't controll something like that if they don't like that kind of songs very much. I enjoy this contest as it is anyway ^_^ (And the Ukmix forum did seem a bit complex  ) Edited September 16, 200915 yr by Freeze
September 16, 200915 yr Btw, can I ask what a chart mod does in here? Always wondered about that.. I'm going to bed now, so I'll probably read about it in the morning :) Good night then :D
September 16, 200915 yr Author Some people do need to be more open minded, but at the end of the day, majority rules :P There are however a few people here that are big fans of foreign artists, so we never know. I might take a risk with Laura this time. I think i would do much better with Jessie James than the rest, and while i love her song, I prefer the other ones, with Pausini as my favourite :) Yeah, Ukmix is not the best at first impressions  Takes a while to get used to it
September 16, 200915 yr Author Btw, can I ask what a chart mod does in here? Always wondered about that.. I'm going to bed now, so I'll probably read about it in the morning :) Good night then :D I think they discuss the rules, and basically control and guide people in the forum. Good night :)
September 16, 200915 yr as for Suddenly, maybe you prefer the original :heehee: FHEb-T8tOl8 I do, that's a lot better. Would give it a 6/10. :)
September 16, 200915 yr TBH I don't like UKmix that much, I only visit the chart forum now and then. They used to have some great information from Hanboo anf flatdeejay (and some other, can't remember of names) but they stopped posting. And there are some annoying little twats like jszmiles, I can't stand. :D
September 16, 200915 yr Laura Pausini sticks out a mile from the rest, which I like 5/5 Andain, could grow on me, its a nice tune but I'm still on the fence 2.5/5 Sade, does nothing for me 1/5 LeAnn Rimes, actually I like this on first listen its a close second 4.5/5 Jesse James, hmmm.... I don't really know she sounds very weak in her voice out of the 5 female acts, I don't really feel it 1/5 Return the favour when you can, you probably laugh at one of them :heehee:
September 16, 200915 yr Author you missed Faith Hill :heehee: which Leann Rimes version did you like, the remix I posted or original?
