Kung Fu star David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok hotel room

Thai police are reported to have told BBC News that the 72-year-old was discovered sitting in a wardrobe by a hotel maid on Thursday morning. He is thought to have had a rope around his neck and body.

"[it's] shocking. He was full of life, always wanting to work... a great person," said his personal manager Chuck Binder.

Binder added to the New York Post that Carradine had "been in good spirits" when he spoke to him last week.

Carradine was in Thailand to work on upcoming movie Stretch. He had appeared in more than one hundred films throughout his career, including Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill saga.

He is survived by his wife and four children

David Carradine icon RIP

Best remembered for Kung Fu, love the series, I remember watching the series on a Saturday evening slot.

I just dont get why a guy like Carradine would commit suicide.... :o His career was actually doing pretty good since Kill Bill....

It's really quite shocking news tbh, I kind of grew up watching repeats of Kung Fu.... Great series....

Sounded to me like it might have been accidental suicide - well you know what that usually means...
I liked the Kung Fu series on Tv back in the '70's it was a great program, only used his skills as a defence rather than for attacking people. Sad news, if it is suicide I wonder what pushed him into it.
I remember the series from the 70's, and its next generation from the 90's.....both good, although the series in the 90's had a few episodes that really appeared to be very suspect to me....requiescat in pace, Mr. Carradine.....
It doesn't seem to have been suicide. At least according to latest press reports.

indeed, it appears it was some kind of auto-erotic sex act that went wrong , what a way to go! respect!

If it was an auto-erotic sex act, it wasn't exactly Carradine's intention to go as such though mate.... :P Rather it was the intention more to get his rocks off.....

in tribute...the iconic intro.... fantastic :)

I couldn't stand the Kung Fu series! Sorry - and I thought Carradine was a crap actor! Still sad though.

Rob - if you think Carradine was a good actor ... then you have even worse taste than I have for liking Take That! :P You'll be saying June Brown was robbed of a BAFTA next!

Exhibit A for the Prosecution

And this was one of his better films!

Carradine death linked to sex game

Friday, June 5 2009, 10:14 BST

WENN

Kung Fu star David Carradine might have died after an auto-erotic asphyxiation game went wrong, according to police.

The 72-year-old was found dead by a maid in a Bangkok hotel room on Thursday. He was discovered hanging naked in a wardrobe with ropes tied around his neck and genitals.

Speaking to reporters, Thai Police Lt. Gen. Worapong Chrewprecha said: "The two ropes were tied together. It is unclear whether he committed suicide or not or he died of suffocation or heart failure due to an orgasm."

He added that production crew told police that Carradine had been drinking beer "from morning until evening the day before he was found dead".

The results of an autopsy completed earlier today have yet to be released - however, officials have speculated that the cause of death might have been accidental suffocation.

Friends and family of the star were quick to dismiss early speculation that he had taken his own life, with his personal manager saying: "He really appreciated everything life has to give...and that's not something David would ever do to himself."

She added that he was "in good spirits" when he left for Thailand on May 29 and was looking forward to starting work on Stretch.

Carradine rose to fame as the martial arts expert Kwai Chang Caine in the Kung Fu series. He went on to appear in over one hunded films, including the recent Quentin Tarantino saga Kill Bill.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

 dirty, kinky old bugger!

Well in the words of Murray Head .... "One night in Bangkok makes a hard man crumble"
