all that credibility crap....britney is still breaking records, selling albums, arena..and Circus era is her most Successful sinse BOMT....

the only reason she aint sold as much now is because of Illegal Downloading-same with every artist..no1 is going to sell what they did 10 yrs ago!

In The Zone was a more successful era, in terms of both sales (taking into account the decline) AND single successes around the world. Globally Circus hasn't even come close to being as big a hit as Everytime, and that was the third single from ITZ!

And, um.. what records is she breaking? Most zombified popstar in the top 20?

in delivering a live show Pink definitly can do itand as this topic is about lip synching we know Britney is a huge culprit..now who else does anyone know who lip synchies on tour. i remembe rpeople saying the spice girls did but im not sure if its true or not
Circus has just went over 3.5 million and it was on Billboards website back when she had just finished touring in the US. I don't have the link but it does me no good to make that figure up. o.O
I'm sure most girlbands probably do on the choruses of their songs as its hard to keep harmonies and stuff.

So you resort to the whole "illegal downloading" argument when your theory of Britney outselling P!nk on a worldwide scale was proven to be a load of old tosh?

illegal dowloading if taking into account goes in pinks favour as downloading decreases sales yet pink;s sales grow with each album in the illegal downloading era
True again. After Try This didn't do great she was written off by some and had to work damn hard to get her success back. I'm Not Dead was a huge success which got her back on the map and it's fair to say Funhouse has actually permanently cemented her as a HUGE name.

Im sooooo happy pink proved them wrong. And the doubters had to eat their words and swaloow it haaard.

"So What" going to no.1 on billboard hot 100 was da icing on the cake

This is why the Sugababes are quite remarkable compared to other girl groups... they never mime anything at all on tour, and haven't mimed on TV for several years. In fact during the last era they did about 10 TV performances, all live, and they were pretty much perfect vocally. They've come on SO FAR in the last three or four years since Amelle joined. Unlike a certain other group they wouldn't have to be over-dubbed if they released a tour DVD either :heehee:

lol, here is so many jelous bitchy britney anti fans, i can only laught on comments. the real thing is, britney doesn't have best voice in the world, but she have everything what people wanna see of some pop star. she is sexy, she is cute, she is great dancer, she is nice person and good singer. and that is why people love her.

You say Britney has everything what people wanna see of some pop star.

How about live vocals when touring.

Without live vocals on tour. Which I and most music fans would regard as being pretty fundamental to being a popstar, then she has zero credibility in my eyes.

If she is such a good singer then why the hell does she not sing live in concert.

In my opinion her touring and lipsyncing her way through the tour is undoing the credibility she rebuilt via her last two largely excellent albums.

If she is not prepared to sing live in concert then she would have been better off not going on tour IMHO, instead of ripping off the consumer.

Spears is the only act in Nielsen SoundScan history to have four albums debut with 500,000 or more copies sold

Word.

But let haters hate. Britney is still having more then her share of success and her fans are happy.

I am done with this anti Britney debate.

Top 20 best selling artist in USA of the decade (2000-2009).

she is only one female in top 10, and youngest person on the list. good record I think.

That's a record she's long-since broken though. Her current sales certainly aren't contributing much to it!

To quote Rizzo, 'some people are so touchy!'. You should learn to loon down Tyler... You know I enjoy some of Britney's music and have used her AF in the past and been positive about her, but I'm not going to conceid that she's the biggest-selling popstar at the minute when she simply isn't :heehee:

I said she is one of the biggest which is true. The only female artist bigger then her right now is Beyonce, and she isn't even pop.

Hers live vocals are good, you can heard on youtube videos what Tyler posted. I dont know why she doesn't sing live, maybe she have some problems or something, who knows. britney fans love her, no matter how she sing or not sing.

britney is the mini vanilla of the 00's sold millions but couldnt sing.... again britney/computer has delivered some fantastic pop songs in her day and her greatest hits has some excellent singles so i'm not saying she is all bad etc, but for me what put me off britney and made me stop buying her music is the fact she doesnt sing live which makes me wonder who's voice is on the records.
I don't get this whole Milli Vanilli comparisson?! Wasn't Milli Vanilli TWO different people ? When Britney actually records her own vocals for her songs. It's just they decide to heavily manipulate the voice, which is a shame, and which is why 'Out From Under' is my fave from 'Circus' as it is the most natural sounding from the album

However, anyone could spin that, to say that she still has not sold as many albums as an act who split up in 1970 (after a recording career of just 7 years less than Britney Spears), whom half of their members of the group are now dead.

But I guess the big difference was The Beatles could write a classic tune or 200+; and were pretty good live and always recorded and performed with soul, heart and conviction.

The Beatles - She Loves You / Twist And Shout (live 1963)

The Beatles - Revolution (live 1968)

The Beatles - Get Back (live 1969)

Perhaps that explains why they were always crap at miming:

The Beatles - Ticket To Ride (live 1965)

GMTV: and so what did u think of Britney lipsynching her way thru the show?
