well Cavaday fell at the last hurdle. But we did have 1 win and that was in the men's doubles.
I really want Ana Ivanovic to win the womens, she so deserves it but she's off form and fallen out the top 10 recently after being no.1 for so long last year.. Kuznetsova and the Williams Sisters seriously need to take a hike, they've all had their share of fame.. Ivanovic ftw

Although I wouldn't mind Wozniacki or Azarenka winning either, Dementieva too - as long as she's been around she's always an interesting player.. Adore her but like Nick said quite off-form..

Can't stand Safina or Zvonareva, so dull and annoying. =/ Both pretty inconsistant, along with Jankovic, consistancy really is vital and on all surfaces..

All of the top women have uber flopped at Eastbourne (where my mum was born and my grandma lives :kink:) apart from Wozniacki, she's very dangerous now. So's Azarenka if her hip gets better

I'd have named Federer top seed tbh, with the French Open win and 6 Wimbledon finals in a row, not that it really matters though, 1st and 2nd seeds both get easy(ish) draws.

Good to see Sharapova's been seeded, to prevent her coming up against a big name early on. I can see her making the quarters in this one.

Why would Federer be seeded #1?

Based on rankings he is second and based on recent grass court success he is second. Plus if you are the reigning champ and ranked first how can you not be seeded first.

FROM BBC

Nadal Wimbledon defence in doubt

It remains unclear whether Rafael Nadal will defend his Wimbledon title after he struggled with his movement during an exhibition match on Thursday.

Nadal, who has been plagued with knee problems throughout his career, lost 6-4 6-3 to Australian Lleyton Hewitt.

Nadal will now decide whether to play at Wimbledon after an exhibition match against Stanslas Wawrinka on Friday.

"He is having difficulties bending and it seems his treatments aren't enough," said coach and uncle Toni Nadal.

"I don't know [if he will defend his title], we have to wait for Friday."

The world number one was forced to withdraw from Queen's Club last week with knee trouble and underwent intense rehabilitation in Barcelona.

He was diagnosed with tendinitis in both quadricep tendons as well as a small amount of fluid on the kneecaps.

Nadal and Murray practise together

But the 23-year-old looked on course to defend his title after coming through a practice session at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

However, Nadal looked troubled throughout his one hour 20 minute encounter with Hewitt at London's Hurlingham Club.

In Nadal's first match since losing to Robin Soderling in the fourth round of the French Open, the Spaniard looked increasingly frustrated as he repeatedly failed to get to balls he would normally reach.

Hewitt challenged Nadal from the start, forcing him to save two break points in the first game before holding serve.

The Australian then managed to break to love for a 3-2 lead after three unforced errors from Nadal, and held his next service game to love behind a barrage of aces.

Nadal frequently muttered to himself in Spanish after missing shots, and often had to rely on his top-spin forehand to bail him out of trouble.

He had his first break point in the first game of the second set, but Hewitt saved it with a service winner.

606: DEBATE

I personally think he will come out ok and will be fit for Wimby

EarlsfieldOwl

Nadal set up another break point at 2-2 with a good forehand volley, but Hewitt produced a forehand winner down the line before holding.

Hewitt broke again for a decisive 4-3 lead after Nadal sent a forehand long, and the Australian converted his second match point after Nadal sent a lunging backhand long as well.

Nadal, who beat Roger Federer in a classic final in 2008, has already said he will not defend his Wimbledon crown if he is not 100%.

And five-time champion Bjorn Borg has raised doubts over Nadal's ability to retain his Wimbledon title.

"Nadal is always a dangerous player because he is the best in the world - but what happened in Paris and then the injury, I am picking Andy Murray or Roger Federer," said the Swede.

"For Nadal to win five in a row (at the French Open) was a big goal this year. I am sure he was very, very disappointed when he went home after Paris.

"That defeat took him many, many days to get over. Nadal is saying he has got an injury, but he has to be fit at Wimbledon if he wants to go all the way, and I do not think he will go all the way this year."

Shame Nadal can't compete, he's like one of the most impressive players in today's Wimbledon. :(
Shame about Nadal, but it's good news for Murray.

Tursunov and Grigor Dimitrov

Ivanovic is on fire today :o

I'd love to see her make it to the QF's at least :) It'd be the first time since the French Open of 2008 if she does.

She's really hitting them, I love her, really hope she does well.
