Me neither, though I like Marley. I bet nearly everyone here has ABBA Gold though :)

My parents have it :P

Nope to both, I bet everyone has got Duffy

My mum has it :D

but i bet everyones got Thriller.

No...

What everyone probably will have though is Leona and/or Back to Black

I've got Thriller and Duffy. Has anyone here NOT got Lady Gaga? :heehee:

I've not got Thriller, the Marley one, Duffy, Leona or Lady GaGa! I have got Amy Winehouse though.

I haven't got Abba Gold either!

In the Taylor household we didn`t bother with Abba Gold because we had all the original albums anyway. Didn`t bother with any Jackson album...Can`t stand the man!

What about the comedy albums though? i.e. Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Jasper Carrot, Tony Hancock...and don`t forget (for the x-rated material) Derek And Clive Live! Who of course, were the naughty side of Peter Cook, and Dudley Moore...with such stuff as "A man walked up to me, and said you ***t!" And others, like Nailing Peoples Heads to the Floor...all rib-tickling stuff!

I used to have all Jasper Carrot's albums - my favourite being Carrot in Notts! I then went to see him live a few times and he was dreadfully disappointing. He barely changed material from year to year, let alone from venue to venue. Mike Harding, during the same era, was - as a live performer, far superior - changing chunks of his material from venue to venue, town to town - and his shows were much longer (but as they were so funny, they seemed far too brief).

I did like Carrot's version of Bantom C ock! Until I heard Jake Thackray's original!

Again, very surprised. :o

I didn't say that I didn't have any Bob Marley, just not Legend

I'm surprised - I thought SIA, as much as I like it, would miss the top 20 - so it even being close to the top ten is good enough for me for a third single from a fairly big selling album. The only thing that narks me a bit is that it is likely to peak higher than the superior Up All Night.

Should they have done three physical formats for UAN as they made with SIA, i am very sure they would habe been in top 10. But no: no right promotion, only one format. Why they release it when Gary was climbing mountains is behind my understanding. I am still very upset about this.... Why should this happen every time with the songs i care for? :arrr:

So UAN will be shelved with I wait for life instead with RTW and Shine, where his place should be.

Yes, saw what you mean about Jasper. Saw him a few times, and it was practically like one of his TV shows repeated over and over. Have a Mike Harding album, he did spend a lot of time with the Fivepenny Piece in the 70s...Mike very good with those amusing songs, such as "Our Dog Fred". The Fivepenny Piece on their own, just missed the chart in 1975 with the excellent single "Watercolour Morning". Max Boyce is pretty good if you can understand what he`s on about. Did used to find Jim Davidson funny, then found he`d nicked the act of Jimmy Jones...and also turned the Generation Game into "I AM JIM DAVIDSON". Best person and value for money to see is Ken Dodd...You get to go home about 2 in the morning, because he does an entire TV series in about 4 hours!

I detest Jim Davidson ... don't like the man and I've never found him funny! I know what you mean about Ken Dodd though - everyone I know who has seen him has said he is hilarious and that you just can't get him to shut up! Someone said that if he had gone to prison on those tax charges - if they'd given him two years - he would have done four!

UAN has sold about 120,000 copies though - probably amongst the highest selling for such a low peaking song. And we'll probably find towards the end of the year - that UAN sells more than SIA! On the top 10 placing of SIA - to be fair Iris ... they did more promo for UAN than they have done for SIA so it has really done it on its own merits. One of the formats from Play was a dvd so I'm not sure if that would count to the chart. I have to say as well, that the video for UAN did it no favours at all! The video for SIA is excellent.
