If we use David Guetta's midweek release (Wednesday evening) as a comparison, that shot up to #1 on iTunes, but only managed Top 10.

 

David Guetta also had (effectively) one extra day over Michael Jackson (Thursday evening), so the highest I can see any of the MJ tracks getting to this week is Top 15. Next week will be a different story.

 

The artist it REALLY affects is Cascada (Evacuate the Dancefloor), released this Sunday.

 

 

I wonder what's made Man In The Mirror the song of choice...

They've been playing it on the news channels. I guess it makes a better choice as reflective song than say Thriller.

 

 

Wow at how much effect Michael Jackson is having! A shame of course that people like Jordin and The Sats wont hit certain posistions but a music legend has just died.

Yeah I'd say the artist it really affects is Cascada too who probably had a decent chance of #01 before now ... maybe JLS too in a fortnight which I would be grateful for if it didn't make #01. Awful song.

I think MJ could prevent Cascada from getting the #1 record. :P

Looking at the iTunes chart there is at least 4 tracks guaranteed to chart inside the top 40, MITM, Thriller, BJ, and BI, so we are getting a indication of what is most likely going to chart inside the top 40. Just hope nothing else filters thru, with some tracks waning a bit over the weekend. I be happy with 4 tracks inside the top 40.
