Fireflies proceeds to spend a 2nd week at the top spot here, as he has done in the official chart. Absolutely amazing song, my personal favourite in the entire top 40 (officially). It's probably the last week at the top for Owl though - next week will belong to either Jedward or Helping Haiti.

Helping Haiti, predictably, shoot directly to the top, thereby providing (uncredited) second #1s on this chart for Alexandra Burke and Cheryl Cole and a third for JLS.

After 5 weeks, the Big Top 40 seem to be back on track, with the accuracy slightly higher than it was at the end of the 28-week 2009. Helping Haiti might drop off on iTunes within a couple of weeks, so we could be looking at a return to #1 here for Owl City (or indeed Timbaland ft. Katy Perry) in a few weeks.

It's a bit of a shame that the UK Haiti single might sell 1 million this week, while the far superior Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour) only made #41 and one week in the top 75 :(

We're approaching the 25th Big Top 40 #1 single - but who will it be? It probably won't be for a good month or two yet though.

Contenders for #1 this Sunday are;

Helping Haiti - Everybody Hurts (3rd week)

Alicia Keys - Empire State Of Mind (Part II) Broken Down (current #3)

Florence + The Machine and Dizzee Rascal - You've Got The Dirtee Love (midweek release)

Owl City - Fireflies (current #2)

Timbaland ft. Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again (current #4)

Daisy Dares You ft. Chipmunk - Number One Enemy (new release)

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (new release)

Sugababes - Wear My Kiss (new release)

Jason Derülo - In My Head (new release)

Who will get it?

Listeners to Big Top 40, may have been a bit miffed this week...because at the beginning of the programme, Lady GaGa was said to be at number 10 for the week on iTunes. That was tripe, as no way could che have been! It most certainly should of been Rihanna`s "Rude Boy". But obviously this proves what a load a nonsense that chart really is.

A second #1 here for Mr. Derülo - nonetheless, the 'guess' will turn out to be wrong, as the 'guess' for his week at official #1 was FloDizz if you get me. The Big Top 40 have 'guessed' Derülo to be #1 on Sunday - it'll be Tinie Tempah. It's quite confusing.

Also a second Big Top 40 #1 for Dizzee Rascal last week, but I forgot to post this because the recap guy seems to have died!

I do like the Big Top 40 show (I love how they play out short versions of the top 10 at the beginning, and there's much less talking, and more music), but I don't think it's aiming to 'guess' or 'predict' the official number one, is it? I thought it was simply another chart (which happens to be the live itunes chart).

When it first came out at least, it was marketing itself as a sort of 'preview' for the official #1.

But Eric, the top 10 at the beginning doesn`t include Thurs/Fri or Saturdays sales on iTunes. It`s even behind the official top 10. Give us a listener on the Superstation http://www.thesuperstation.info on Sunday at 4pm, and the music is practically non-stop for the complete top 40, and the best chart show around...Promise!

Yeah, I did know that, but I still like it. It's just this is the first time I've ever heard of the Big Top 40 show being a 'forecast' of some sort, so I was a bit confused.

Tinie Tempah grabs the 25th unique #1 single here, after just 38 weeks - each #1 has spent on average 1.52 weeks there.

The Big Top 40 got a screwed up top 10 this week - Owl City back up to #7 for example. That's just iTunes screwing around though! It seemed like a mistake at first that Tinie held onto the #1 given how Rihanna was a fraction of a bar for #1 since 10pm last night, but alas, Tinie really IS still #1. Nice going.

Edited by BrayFish Derülo

Probably he`s realised the show`s utter nonsense! This week, the lockdown of the top 10 happened at 6pm, but the chart they lockdown with suddenly changed to a 6.10pm one, because all of a sudden the iTunes had 2 new in the top 10! Even more amazing Daisy Dares You managed to achieve 3 places on the chart in one show...going 25 26 6 in 2 hours. Then Dizzee And Florence fell from 4 to 33, and then Florence on her own fell from 17, out of the chart totally....Hell, what is that programme about?

Totally agreed- terrible chart, the thing that makes no sense is the fact that airplay is combined and it is the itunes chart- they couldve just done the bloody itunes chart!

I cant believe it gets 2 million, I know reggie is awful, but at least the chart makes sense
