Posted June 27, 200916 yr I was going to post it in the Sunday Chart Predictions thread, but since that was so rudely closed I thought I'd make a new thread to say that the NME are reporting that "Number Ones" is set to be #1 on the chart tomorrow according to data they received from the OCC. June 27, 200916 yr Oh yay, brilliant for Jacko :D His life is cruelly cut short, and just three days later, he gets a UK #1 album :) I'm guessing it is a return to #1? Edited June 27, 200916 yr by B-rye

Quite right Rob. You beat me to it, there. The sales of Kasabian, & Paolo were not that enormous, this week. It was pretty quiet, and I believe Clubland 15 also over took them anyway. I just wonder on next week, will the original version of Thriller, be combined with the 25th Anniversary Album or will they be charting seperately? Combined "Thriller" would be topping next week`s chart.
June 27, 200916 yr Maybe this means La Roux actually will get No.1 album next week then :dancing: I wouldn't bet on that!

It was not rudely closed, I usually close it on a Saturday, anyway have you heard of a PM function  I could have re-opend it.
June 27, 200916 yr So MJ's untimely death saved the album chart from having another #1 album selling less than 30k. Am I correct?
June 27, 200916 yr 'Number Ones' was originally a UK Chart Topper, in the Chart of W/E 29th November 2003. So, its return to No.1 - for the Chart of W/E 4th July - will be a 'Gap' of just over 5 Years & 7 Months. I believe that it is the 3rd biggest 'Gap' ever, between an Album first being at No.1, & returning to No.1. The 2 biggest 'Gaps' are held by 'Gold' - ABBA. October 1992 to April 1999 - 6 Years & 6 Months. Also - May 1999 to August 2008 - 9 Years & 3 Months. When 'Number Ones' returns to the Top tomorrow, it will be Michael's 23rd Week at No.1, in the UK Album Chart. Edited June 27, 200916 yr by zeus555
June 27, 200916 yr But - it could carry on for even longer. We could see a 'Tribute Concert', later in 2009 - or sometime in 2010. That will 'kick-start' MJ Sales again.....
June 27, 200916 yr But - it could carry on for even longer. We could see a 'Tribute Concert', later in 2009 - or sometime in 2010. That will 'kick-start' MJ Sales again..... If there is a tribute concert, then it would use the dates that were scheduled for his O2 stay, not later in 2009/2010
June 27, 200916 yr If there is a tribute concert, then it would use the dates that were scheduled for his O2 stay, not later in 2009/2010 Well, it would take time to prepare and MJ had the O2 booked between July 13th-September 29th and January 7th-March 6th so later in 2009/2010 sounds about right. Apparently Beyonce, Paul McCartney, 3T, Justin Timberlake, Diana Ross, Leona Lewis and Usher are all being lined-up for a benefit gig (according to The Sun)
June 27, 200916 yr I wouldn't bet on that! I can't see Jacko selling the 100k+ it would likely take to beat La Roux.
June 27, 200916 yr The OCC have said that 'Billie Jean', 'Thriller', & 'Man In The Mirror', are Selling well enough to Chart again - to name but 3 Songs. (I guess The OCC mean in tomorrow's Chart).
