June 28, 200916 yr Wow, second win in a row. This one comes totally unexpected as I thought MJ songs will completely mess up my predictions. P.S. I think I'm missing 100 points from the Overall Leaderboard (Best 50 Weeks Games Scores) :) 3 3 25 NoiseAddict 3453 Edited June 28, 200916 yr by NoiseAddict
June 29, 200916 yr I thought that given the extreme nature of the week's events that all the Jackson songs would have been excluded from the chart run down as there is no way that anyone could take them into account and given their massive effect on the chart, the predictions move completely away from accuracy and judgement to complete luck.
June 29, 200916 yr Author Wow, second win in a row. This one comes totally unexpected as I thought MJ songs will completely mess up my predictions. P.S. I think I'm missing 100 points from the Overall Leaderboard (Best 50 Weeks Games Scores) :) No you are not, due to the week you missed. But when it gets to the end of the year you will be very close if not ahead of me in 2nd.
June 29, 200916 yr No you are not, due to the week you missed. But when it gets to the end of the year you will be very close if not ahead of me in 2nd. Sorry, my mistake, I thought you were showing the best 25 scores (out of 26) after the first half of the year. :hithead:

The fact that Michael Jackson's death has had an impact on the results has meant that some have benefitted from it, but others have not. However, in this case none of the three Bonus Questions would have had a different result had Michael Jackson not passed away. That has certainly not been the case in the past with certain singles being released digitally earlier than planned (most recently the early release of When Love Takes Over) reaching the Top 10. So I'd argue it gives the Game an element of luck to the predicting, making the Game a bit like playing Poker. But for the record, excluding Michael Jackson related tracks, the results would have looked like this with a different winner: 30th Blazing Rob 99 29th Steve69 113 28th leonafan 115 27th mark w 118 26th paulgilb 122 25th YanBG 125 23rd Mart!n 128 23rd yohinnchild 128 22nd L!am 132 21st Ethan 133 19th JakeyShake 138 19th Silver Rocket 138 18th Nick F1 140 16th eightiespopkid 142 16th Gboy 142 14th B-rye 145 14th zero 145 12th Aaron 147 12th madonna-4-eva 147 10th Jack 150 10th TomKay 150 9th Arrs 152 8th West 153 6th funmaker11 155 6th Jester 155 4th Jonjo 159 4th NoiseAddict 159 3rd thisispop 161 2nd Ben 162 1st spiidey 166

Fair points. :) Almost on the whole the predictions balance out, particularly for the predictions in the top 20/30; its just a tad frustrating getting the Shinedown prediction spot on (55) yet scoring zero, and then the Penate prediction 5 away (46), yet scoring a combined total of 4 points for both. A system of the higher of the prediction without MJ or with MJ may have balanced it out a bit more; however I respect your decision (i.e. to keep the Prediction Game as simple as possible) as final.
