I like it!

Especially the part with Matt smoking the pipe as you mentioned! Haha

I love the changes in colour and the suddeen close ups of Alex at certain parts of the song - works really well I think.

It's rubbish. The CGI is pretty crap, the bit where they come out of the water?! I mean come on. And what is the first half of the video all about? Just them sat in a boat. Woo. With really poor impressions of water behind them. Looks like it's all been done on a pretty tight budget and they've done the best they can. The 'Brianstorm' video was better. Wasn't flashy or overdone but it still worked. The song was much better as well. Argh. :(

It's annoying me how poor this is all going so far; album track sounding first single, poor decision regarding the release and now the second rate video. Hm.

Well the budgeting was never going to massive, I mean they are on a tiny label afterall.

Crying Lightning is not my favourite song of theirs, but i'm looking forward to the album greatly. I like what i've heard of the album so far.

So why not make another video like Brianstorm then? That was good video which didn't cost a lot to make...

I agree that the Brianstorm video (and song) was better, but I still think this is pretty decent. Yes, you can tell it was done on a budget, but I still think it works well.

I really can't emphasise how much the song has grown on me though since first listen. Brianstorm is still my favourite Arctics song, but this isn't too far away. I think it's bold of them to not release a Fluorescent Adolescent-type song as first single - a first single like that would have obviously been a bigger hit.

The video is  Nice and simple and not tredding on ground they've already been on, the song just gets better and less than a month left until I have the album in my hand

Different director. Probably had a different vision too. I agree it's not their best video, but the effects don't look AS bad on YouTube. It's the close-up shots that look awful, and also the fact they DON'T GET WET - WHICH I REALLY REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND MOSS. But apart from that I think it's a decent video. Improves all the way through.

Arctic Monkeys have announced the release of a limited edition 7" vinyl version of their new single exclusively through Oxfam's 700 shops.

Proceeds from the sale of 'Crying Lightning' will be donated to the charity to help its work around the world.

The move marks the first time Oxfam shops have sold a new release single for 25 years.

Domino Records founder Laurence Bell said: "Oxfam is a Great British institution and it's a delight to be working together on this project.

"We encourage all customers to bring something of value to donate to the store when they come down to buy the new Arctic Monkeys single."

The lead single from the band's upcoming third LP Humbug features a cover of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds' 'Red Right Hand' on the B-side and goes on sale on August 17 for £2.99.

The record includes a download code, which enables fans to get an MP3 version of the songs for free

Apparently there's only gonna be a 7 inch and a 12 inch single meaning there is gonna be no CD :( Don't think it'll back into the chart now then...

Arctic Monkeys have hidden tickets to this year's Reading And Leeds Festivals inside just two copies of their new single.

The "golden tickets" for the August 28-30 event, will be placed at random inside the seven-inch version of 'Crying Lightning' which is released on Monday (August 17).

As previously reported, Arctic Monkeys are selling that version of the single exclusively through Oxfam's charity shops in the UK.

A ten-inch version of the single is being sold through conventional record shops.

In addition to the golden tickets, which will contain a code that the finders can enter online, the band are also hiding 40 signed copies of the seven-inch across Oxfam's network of shops.

A further 15 signed copies will be sent out at random to customers who buy the record using Oxfam.org.uk/shop.
