This album is awful. The only two songs that have interested me are 'Black Star' and 'What the Hell' -- one I'd already heard and the other is only an intro!

How could you possibly not enjoy Wish You Were Here? GIVE IT ANOTHER GO, YOUNG ONE.

Well Avril loons (me) can rest easy in knowing she isn't flopping worldwide.

*sigh*

This is released in Ireland tomorrow. Can't wait. :cheer:

<_< Damn you.

Well done Avril for the lack of UK promo. NO ONE knows when your album is released and if you think you can compete with Adele/Jessie J with no promo well... no. -_-

Avril Lavigne - What The Hell 39.1% (9,745 votes)

Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me 37.03% (9,229 votes)

Lady Gaga - Born This Way 23.87% (5,950 votes)

Total Votes: 24,924

You'll never find out the digital album sales, and they're not high in Japan anyway.

They have a MASSIVE ringtone market, a big song download market, but the digital album market is weak.

Koda Kumi dropped a bit whereas Avril stayed quite consistent, Avril could get the #1 there :)

Oh, but i was mostly talking about digital tracks when i said million records

18K in Japan today and 82K overall but move up to #1 there :cheer:. She can outsell the rest of international superstars (Pink, Rihanna) in Japan with her first week sales alone

<_< Damn you.

Uhmm, she performs on T4, do a live lougne, some interviews and presented an awards at Brits. I know they don't help the song at all because British seems to lose interests in her but there're still promotion :cheer:

With regards to that poll... I'd totally agree that Avrils song is the best of the three ^_^

Sorry but there's no way What The Hell (which is great for a generic Dr Luke rock-pop song) is better than Born This Way. That poll only came out like that because there's some silly anti-Gaga movement at the minute.

It's not even a Dr Luke song :naughty: . Failed !

#26 in midweek updated. New peak !!!

Max Martin, Dr Luke, whatever. They're pretty much one and the same.
What the hell doesn't actually fit in with the album. It reminds me of a left over track that should of made The best damn thing.

I'd rank them HIAM (90 plays) > WTH (27 plays) > Born This Way (15 plays).

HIAM is very instant, I got a bit bored of it, but it's still pretty amazing.

WTH sounds quite cheap after a first listen, I wasn't impressed AT ALL at first but the more you listen to it the more you enjoy it, and I have to say it's the one I've been the most surprised to love. The album being amazing really helps liking the song too

BTW is a fun song, but it doesn't really catch me, it's got a slick production, but at the end of the day, I don't really want to play it. And the awful video (bar the perfectly amazing intro) doesn't help...

Should we do a Goodbye Lullaby rate or something ? :kink:

I have no idea why this album is predicted to flop. It's fantastic! :o It's very mellow, but there are a few lively songs on it. And it sounds NOTHING like her previous album, so I'm not understanding this whole "it sounds so like her last album!!!!!" because it's actually completely different. :/ Did people just hear What The Hell and ASSUME that the entire album sounds like that? Because that song sticks out like a sore thumb!

My rating: 9/10.

yes! after the album is out though.

I can't wait to listen, even if most reviews are poor. 'the best damn thing' is my favourite album of all time and that was quite disliked.

Then you should know that whether people think this song is better than....whatever song or not. It's a matter of opinion. Just respect the other opinions

For me,

Let Go 9.5/10

Under My Skin 8.5-9/10

TBDT 7.5-8/10

Goodbye Lullabye 9/10

I don't know why people on this forum is so negative to predict the album flop. It's smashing hard in Japan. She's about to outsell every huge international pop stars there with her first week sales alone. This isn't a flop when you're smashing that hard in the second biggest market in the world. On the other hand, the album is about to debut at #1 in Australia too. It's actually doing pretty well on itunes
