Posted July 6, 200916 yr Former member of The Three Degrees Fayette Pinkney has died in hospital aged 61. Fayette was a member of the group during their 70s heyday. Along with leader Sheila Ferguson and other member Valerie Holliday. Together they had 7 UK Top 50 hits before Fayette left to start a family and worked as a vocal coach. Fayette has suffered tragedy herself. On January 15, 1994, Pinkney gave birth to a daughter, Ayana Alexandria, who died a few days later due to sudden infant death syndrome. The group were part of the Gamble & Huff Philadelphia stable along with acts such as The O'Jays, Peoples Choice, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, The Intruders and Billy Paul, to name a few.
