July 7, 200916 yr you're predicting the heavyweights Kopecka AND Ashton to both DNQ, a bold move there Rob :o
July 7, 200916 yr you're predicting the heavyweights Kopecka AND Ashton to both DNQ, a bold move there Rob :o Well, it happened in X with three heavyweights, you, Ashton and (oh my, how they've fallen!) Simondly :o
July 7, 200916 yr Surely the country makes absolutely no difference to whether or not a song will qualify ;)
July 7, 200916 yr poor Simondly, who didn't even express an interest to participate this month :o Simondly were more of a long server than a heavyweight though, how many top tens have they had, 2 or 3 out of 17?
July 7, 200916 yr Surely the country makes absolutely no difference to whether or not a song will qualify ;) you'd think so, but I do often wonder what makes countries like Dalisska so eternally unlucky when, in my opinion, Dalisska in particular send some of the best and more original songs to the BJSC month in month out...I wonder if a higher profile country would have better luck with their songs due to increased exposure/hype/expectation?
July 7, 200916 yr Believe Again is one of her finest moments in my opinion and came 17th or 18th in the first contest :( but alas, Delta hasn't been sent until now in 'the modern era' so it's hard to see how well she'd go down these days edit: that was not a random comment, I swear Tom (Numayania) had posted something about Delta just then
July 7, 200916 yr Sorry, I deleted my message which your last one was a reply to Rich cos I worded it badly. I was bascally saying that I think Electric Storm is an amazing song, and im only going on the fact that Believe Again flopped and it's sort of a ballad...

I always wondered that too. Glad I'm not the only one. :P
July 8, 200916 yr you're predicting the heavyweights Kopecka AND Ashton to both DNQ, a bold move there Rob :o Like others have said, it shouldn't matter what country you are!
July 9, 200916 yr Now I've listened to the songs 3/4 times, I can give a proper one: United States of Jack: Cobra Starship feat Leighton Meester - Good Girls Go Bad JRKoff: Shy'm - Step Back MKL: Michelle Williams - Hello Heartbreak Bhangra: Yohanna - I Miss You United States of Russiatron: Ashley Tisdale - How Do You Love Someone? Lorikeet: The Veronicas - 4ever Torchwood: Nicole Statements - Taller Hendinia: Ghostcat - Everybody On The Dancefloor Britmasu: Jessie James - Wanted New Rivermaya: 2NE1 - Fire Juranabaijan: Girls Aloud - Miss You Bow Wow [QOD Radio Edit] Numayania: Le Kid - Mercy Mercy Quotosibb: M$ney - Future Kathaldazia: Tasha Baxter - Who's Sorry Now Botanikka: Nelly Furtado - Manos Al Aire Xyland: Oceana - Cry Cry Lotopialand: Jupiter Rising - Flip My Switch Republikken Ashton: Delta Goodrem - Electric Storm Cadbury: Sia - Buttons (CSS Remix) Ojnoj: Solange Knowels - Cosmic Journey Nonsuch: Ben Folds ft Regina Spektor - You Don't Know Me Angelicland: Daniela - You & I Scherzland: Metro Station - Seventeen Forever Kopečka: Jasmine - Hot Loving
July 9, 200916 yr I've got to be totally honest, and say I think this is my entry is the stongest (BJSC friendly) song entered since Nerina Pallot's How Did I Become Such A B!tch (which is no longer going to be her lead single from her 3rd album). Before the contest started I thought it was a near certain overall Top 10 finisher, as it was a huge airplay success on US college rock radio, becoming Ben Folds most famost song. When he tours/plays gigs he is normally joined by a guest female performer to do that song as a duet. So far he has been joined on stage by (deep breath) ..... Regina Spektor, Missy Higgins, Fiona Apple, Natalie Imbruglia, Camille, Emiliana Torrini, Joanna Newsom, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Martha Wainwright, Ingrid Michaelson, Bic Runga and (perhaps most intrigingly) Anna Friel as well as a former BJSC winner: M6iwvTtHI2I Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles "You Don't Know Me" live However, it looks like it might really struggle to qualify, which to me seems odd as I think it is an incredibly catchy song, as it has sold over 400K downloads in the USA, and is a very popular track to listen to on youtube and is his most popular song on Spotify. But maybe the song and track (produced by ELO/Travelling Wilbury Jeff Lynne) is too clever for its own good.
July 9, 200916 yr Exactly, Sia belongs to Semi 2 :( Why the EFF am I ALWAYS in the wrong Semi with Cadbury?! [/gossip :(] :( Just for the semi I'm in: United States of Jack: Cobra Starship feat Leighton Meester - Good Girls Go Bad JRKoff: Shy'm - Step Back MKL: Michelle Williams - Hello Heartbreak Bhangra: Yohanna - I Miss You United States of Russiatron: Ashley Tisdale - How Do You Love Someone? I think it's easily your strongest entry so far and it's such a grower. gutted I voted so early now I might have a look on Youtube for some of those other performances. :o
