LOTR is a total shitfest. Do not make such blasphemous comparisons!

:o

As much as I love the HP books and dislike the LOTR books, the Lord Of The Rings has been produced so much better for cinema than what the HP films have.

I agree with you about the films.

I was comparing how big the LOTR books were for that generation to how big the HP books are for are generation.

I know, I was just making a point about the LOTR films. Can't stand 'em. The first one actually sent me to sleep (I'm pretty sure I wasn't even tired) and the subsequent two just made me feel a bit perplexed as to what all the fuss was about. It all seemed so campy with no substance.

Well, that's not as bad as my dad, who actually went to sleep during the first film and started snoring, so embarassing -_-

The Lord of the Rings movies are amazing. :( Better than the novels imo lawlz.

I found the Fellowship of the Ring too hard to get into so gave up after a few chapters, but then again I was 10 at the time. I've read the Hobbit though which I really enjoyed and is quite lighthearted in tone. And agreed that the movies, especially FOTR, are magnificent. Some of my favourite films of all time, and some of the best cinema experiences I've ever had  (I saw ROTK five times, my mum is a bit of a loon.)

I'm currently obsessed with Potter. Rewatched 5 movies so far and yet to watch the 6th one having not read the book :o What's better - to read or watch first?

I want to read first too but it's quite expensive to buy all books, which i want tbh, and i don't know anyone who possesses them for me to borrow :(

Anyway, i LOVE that crazy bitch i can't remember her name who escaped Azkaban and killed Siruis in the 5th book. <3

Oh and Daniel in that 5th movie is HOT (i feel like a perv now lol).

Bellatrix Lestrange!

She's played by Helena Bonham Carter

the best actress on the face of the Earth.

^_^ :kink:

Bellatrix  she's amazing, that woman is the best brain-damaged witch ever created :D

Split point confirmed as

Voldemort taking the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's grave.

How are they going to fit so much into the first part? :/ It's not like the potter films are well known for including all information from the book. I reckon the first part will come across as really rushed, and the second part to be spectacular <3

Yeah, this was my thought, that's like two thirds of the book :/

People speculated about this being the split point after seeing a small clip of it the trailer. So this is most likely the last image we will see at the end of Part 1

I think that scene will come just after Harry, Hermione and Ron are taken to Malfoy mannor. I can see it being very Two Towers with the heroes being led to their apparant doom as we pan out and cut to a shot of Voldemort claiming the Elder wand and lighting up the sky. Smash to black. It is probably the most dramatic and suspenseful end they could have done in my opinion, and sounds perfect.

I think that is quite a good place to leave the first part. Although it is quite a bit into it, it probably will end very well, I can just imagine that moment with Voldemort getting the Elder Wand and then it suddenly ends, and I would be hooked after that!

Makes sense to me. Sry but I don't want the first movie to be one huge ass camping trip. Can you say BORING? Of course things will be cut; that's a good thing imo. I don't want this to feel drawn out.

But the first part will show the 7 potters, the wedding, gringotts, Bathilda's house, ron leaving & coming back, malfoy mannor, etc. plus finding a way of introducing what the other horcurxes are. It's all a bit too much
