probably won't let you past the iTunes restrictions on paid for downloaded songs

burning the songs to a disc removes takes away the copy protection when you rip it back

Nah it does. I didn't think it would tbh, but it works. ^_^

itunes is DRM free now so you can use itunes music files on anything. Unless they are old downloads and a padlock should appear on the icon in your folder.

Not that it's any of my business, but who's autoqualifying to the final? :teresa:

Well it's not :kink:

But it will be Numayania (me) and Mdice (the winner of XVIII). Eledan, the runner up, will also qualify if there is an odd number of entrants.

I've been thinking a lot about my next entry and it's going to be pretty uninspired unfortunately unless I can dig up something else. ;( I don't think I'd call it cheap but it's a song the indie kidzzz will already know (and a bunch of the pop voters).

Oh f*** it.

Republikken Ashton can confirm that Cinderella Theory will be following in the footsteps of Nevio, Alex Roots, Haffi Haff, Lorelei Carlson and Red Blooded Women in becoming Ashton's latest entry in it's Risks FTW strategy. The ASC and GRA are persevering with the strategy even though it has only brought one top 15 finish [Alex Roots, 5th XVI] and has seen Ashton DNQ once more.

The ASC believes that Cinderella Theory and their strategy are more inkeeping with the competitions spirits than the more common approach of mining the UK release schedule for the biggest forthcoming hits. Having tried to do a GCC with Get Sexy, the Republic can no longer be f***ed with it. Rumours within Ashton House say that Ashton is feeling increasingly disillusioned by the contest and is disgusted by the direction in which the contest is going. Another rumour says that Ashton no longer cares and is just going to stick with it's hope that the contest will one day change with less and less credence given to uninspired and cheap song choices.

Cinderella Theory will be entering with IN2U. Originally linked with the 12th contest, IN2U was removed from the bands Myspace before a mp3 could be obtained following the departure of Corrine and the band becoming a duo. A chance find a couple of months ago put IN2U back on the ASC's radar and after much delay the song will finally be entered into XIX. 7 contests later than originally planned.

This year is $h!t for music LOL. I blame the recession I'm keeping an eye out though. ;(

Daniel is my backup if all else fails. ;3 One of the best singles of the year still. If Potential Breakup Song can do well 2 years after release, so can this damnit. D;

Bat For Lashes - Daniel?

LE cheapness :snif:

Guess you don't want to win again :kink:

"Daniel" would qualify (well you're autoqualified anyway) but I think it'd lag in the final, though it would have been a top 10 contender earlier in the year. Then again, this is Mdice so who knows?

I definitely think most posters, from the UK at least, will already know it. I just think it's a slightly uninspired entry to have as an autoqualifer, lovely as it is.

Surely, you must know some inspired indie/alternative/pop song that was a college radio hit in the USA that did little in the UK over the past 2/3 years?

At the moment I'm likely to refer to my stockpile of songs I've considered before but not entered previously unless an amazing new songs crops into my ear space in the next week and a bit as my entry.

Not one that has BJSC potential. Mots of the music I listen to outside mainstream pop/hyped stuff would do miserable in this contest. I was considering Dirty Projectors - Stillness is the Move but no one seems to like that LOL. And everything else I've liked from the past 2/3 years goes far more obscure than that. And even the more obscure electronic/pop stuff would do poorly tbh (Glass Candy, Desire, and The Golden Filter all crossed my mind as entries but no one would bother with them).

Daniel would stall in the final obviously, but I want to enter something I love obviously. ;P Not something that's going to do well for the sake of doing well. And considering it only peaked at 36 I'm not sure how it's crazy cheap. Just rather uninspired. ;(

if you're really keen on sending something that you love, and are not overly bothered with doing well this month (Daniel wouldn't go higher than 11th I don't think, as nice as it is...most people are over it now), then send one of the tracks that you don't reckon anyone else will like...I'm sure quite a few people will like it out of 50+ countries besides you and at least you'd have the knowledge that they'd never have heard the track without you...I can't think that there's anyone on here that hasn't Daniel before...

an autoualification is the best opportunity to send a risk, as it forces all 50 countries to listen to the track in the final rather than potentially only half of the entrants...I have to say, I never voted for Mdice in leaps and bounds before but in the last 4 contests alone I've given you something near to 30 points, so I'm expecting something great for XIX :w00t:

Nah it does. I didn't think it would tbh, but it works. ^_^

How comes it didn't work for me :(? They're still all M4A (or whatever) format.

They're lovely. But a bit too subtle/disco-y for BJSC.

Tell me about it :( I was going to send Sally Shapiro or (gasp) an original Italo Disco track from the 80s. But it's not going to happen :(
