Why are some people permanently disqualified?

They pissed off the mods :smoke:

Alias accounts earn you a perma ban from the competition.

If I don't make the entrants list this time around, do I automatically stay on the waiting list for next month? :)
The way it was worded in the first post, it implied that if I do not participate in this contest, I would be on the waiting list for the next one rather than just be able to participate automatically. Seems a little unfair...

Is it me or do you seem to find fault with everything I do? How else do you expect people to be able to participate if they're on the waiting list? If you genuinely can't participate then we could work out an arrangement as we've done with Deandria, but ultimately if you don't participate then it's handed over...we really didn't want to get to this stage but numbers were getting a bit silly. Appreciated, they're hovering around the 49 mark at the moment but we could easily end up jumping to 51+, which isn't a stage we want to get to...this is roughly how it's run at the NSC, and they seem to be doing fine with it, and we did put this to public discussion so there really ought to be no complaint...

I have no idea whose idea it was so it's not you that I'm getting at, I'm just saying the way it was put in the first thread seems very different to how it was put in this one.

It is just that now if somebody misses a contest, they may have to miss 2-3 before they get back in, when people who have missed out for whatever reason surely should be given priority in the next one, similar to how it used to be done in Eurovision?

But then who do you choose kick out of the next one? And surely we'd get just as many complaints at allowing people who've already participated priority over those on the list - I doubt it would go down too well if we just bumped Rivandia up the list for example :P

Hi I'm interested in joining but havn't been following or anything so am a bit unsure how this works this is what I think if someone could correct me...

Once I am allowd to enter I have to create a country name and capital city. Then reserve a song that I wish to enter, then confirm the song, then participants and myself vote for the participating songs like the Eurovision. Then if your song wins you can host then next contest but you can pass that job over to whoever came 2nd etc...

Is that the jist of things?

First you post in here with your made-up country name, territory number which you choose from here, flag and other info. Then you ask to be added to this waiting list. Then you can make your own country national thread :magic:

Please can I be put on the waiting list. Thank you I have created my country name and flag and have requested my countrys location as well.

So I might not be able to participate this contest then, because I was unable get on a computer last time round to confirm my song?!
No offence but you clearly had the whole week to do it tbh... confirming last minute isn't a must.
Apologies for not knowing what I wanted to send =/ - I couldn't exactly plan the furture and know that I'd not be able to get a computer. JEEZ -_-
I'm not sure that I like this banning long time participants (such as BaNG) from contests just because they missed a month...I'd rather have three semi finals than for people to miss out, despite the 'logistical nightmares' it may produce

That's why it's always better to make up your mind faster because you 'can't plan the future' and you're not a BJ-addict like me for example

I don't find the 'if you participated in XVIII you get a pass to XIX' rule logical tbh too.

I'm just for not late confirming, that's all. It's impossible not to have (even a small) a favourite in your mind of all songs you consider in my opinion.

I just think it's a bit pointless, that I've participated in nine contests, and then to miss one contest, and then potentially miss the next one because of matters I couldn't control in my personal life.. and then to potentially be stuck on this waiting list for however many contests. I think it's a bit silly. -_-

Tbh, it's making me lose interest in this contest if that's the way it's going to happen.

It's a game after all... but i hope the management (mods) will solve this problem

I thought waiting list is a list for new countries that participate only if one of the 'main' countries withdraw currently or permanently. Sorry if i missed aan answer about it here as I've been away but i have read this topic and didn't find anything.

You're top of the waiting list. You have a spot in this contest for sure.

The waiting list has been put it so we don't have to deal with the logistical nightmare that is 3 Semi's.

You will only lose your spot in the next contest if you don't participate. If you forget to confirm or if you have something come up and can't get onto BJ to confirm or if you will be on holiday for this contest.

Just let us know and you'll be auto reserved for the next contest.

I think we will be refining this over the next month or so to make it clearer so we can clear all this kind of stuff up.

I don't think it would be as much of a nightmare as people seem to think...to qualify you'd probably only need about 30-35 points and a good enough track could surely garner that many points from 17/18 countries in a semi...it's highly unlikely that an R&B song would be drawn into a semi with 17 indie countries (there aren't even that many of them!)...

I know it will never happen, I just think that it actually could work
