June 20, 201015 yr I'm really intrigued to how River will survive, I mean she obviously has to otherwise the Angels and the Library episodes wouldn't have happened like they did.
June 20, 201015 yr I don't know whether this is a known thing but on Wikipedia it says the little girl who plays Amelia (young Amy) stars in the final episode . Looks like history might have to be entirely rewritten or some such? :o The episode description says: The Doctor is trapped, the TARDIS destroyed, and the end of the universe is approaching. A little girl is reality's only hope.
June 20, 201015 yr The episode description says: The Doctor is trapped, the TARDIS destroyed, and the end of the universe is approaching. A little girl is reality's only hope. Exactly.
June 20, 201015 yr It really is, I mean the series has had it's average points near the start but after the second and third episodes it's been going from strength to strength.
June 20, 201015 yr Enjoyed this week's episode, one of the best of the current run. Loved the whole alien unholy alliance to trap the doctor. The whole story was very good, Matt & Karen did a good job in their roles. But on the whole a superb episode and i'm looking forward to the final next week. How are they going to get out of this one? June 26, 201015 yr Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd it! Very excited for the new season now! :kink: I'm going to miss watching it every Saturday. :( Edited June 26, 201015 yr by MrLovett
June 26, 201015 yr Brilliant finale! The best so far. I loved how everything was tied up and how the Doctor kept leaving messages in 100AD. I wasn't too keen on the addition of Amy's parents, but I doubt they'll be in it much anyway! Can't wait for the Christmas episode, hopefully there'll be a trailer out soon. :D 10/10
June 26, 201015 yr hmmm... I was expecting more action from the Daleks & Cybermen etc etc, it seem to be a very lite ender to the series. I do think River Song is the Dr's wife in the future. Overall on the whole series, Amy Pond is a great character, but I simply can't get Matt Smith as the new Dr. Oh well I just have to get used to Matt Smith for another 3 years or so.
June 26, 201015 yr I love how not everything was wrapped up and how the storyline will continue for a new series. And also how it wasn't just a huge massive battle between the Doctor and his enemies as we've seen that happen so many times now.
June 26, 201015 yr Well, a very underwhelming end to an underwhelming series. Easily the most disappointing Series Finale of its 21st revival. Started out well, but descended into schmaltz which is very dangerous unless you are Richard Curtis. Moffat's scripts may be great at dotting the i's and crossing the t's that RTD's failed to manage, but time and time again his directing fails to leave me emotionally involved as if I'm watching a rollercoaster instead of being on it. Whilst watching Christopher Eccleston's tour de force performance as John Lennon on BBC4's drama Lennon Naked this week is a timely reminder that for all Matt Smith's strengths he lacks the acting charisma & gravitas that his two predecessors had with room to spare. Whilst this series has not quite been the "Skins in Space" disaster I had feared, I have to fully agree with Stephen Fry's analysis that this series of this show has targeted a younger audience for this series, and unsurprisingly the ratings have suffered accordingly as it has been the 35+ audience which have stopped tuning in the most. 5/10
June 26, 201015 yr That was EPIC! Loved every single bit of it, it was great to see all the clues that were earlier in the series that we had no idea about - especially in 'Flesh and Stone' when the Doctor came back to Amy. I think River Song is definitely the Doctor's wife, but when she said 'I'm sorry' makes me wonder! Definitely one of my favourite things I've ever seen on TV!
June 26, 201015 yr If Im being honest, it wasnt the best finale for Doctor Who- I was expecting more enemies to appear however, it was a very satisfying end to a mainly brilliant series- Cant wait for the christmas special, shame they didnt reveal the title :( I think Matt Smith has come on very well, if not as good as David Tennant, but Im not a fan of the assistant overall- she didnt seem to be scared by anything
June 26, 201015 yr Well, a very underwhelming end to an underwhelming series. Easily the most disappointing Series Finale of its 21st revival. Started out well, but descended into schmaltz which is very dangerous unless you are Richard Curtis. Completley disagree - usually in the 21st revivial finales I find myself loving the first part and being totally let down by the second part (see Sound Of Drums/Last Of The Time Lords and Stolen Earth/Journey's End) but I thought this was simply brilliant. Excellently executed and well tied up. The unanswered questions will probably be answered in the series finale but overally a brilliant end to a series which just got better. My only real complaint is at the lack of any more from the alliance.. but oh well!
