As for Cherona, it's almost the same as the original though. Considering how Passion Fruit ended, I think it's kind of bad taste :( I think Ben was thinking of sending it for BJSC :kink: By the way, I just found out that Leticia (another ben BJSC consideration) was the real singer on Passion Fruit songs... :o

yeah, poor Passion Fruit :( That Rigga Ding Dong song was a hit here in Portugal too, its fab. Back in the day there were loads released every year :)

Heavy Cross going Top 10. :cheer:

the Show still on a climb. :cheer:

In For The Kill entered. :o

No Chance to jump on Nr. 1 for Cassandra Steen? 5th week on second place.

1971 Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheeep from Middle Of The Road will be 9 weeks without break on place 2.

this chart i like me !!, but top 1 don´t like much...

Never knew that :o

I wouldn't send although it was in my mind, but the Passion Fruit version is so much better and classic! I don't want to ruin my chances with a cheap copy of Cherona

Is this a record at number 2 (without being number 1)? I think Nelly Furtado - Say It Right was number 2 for several weeks (behind that awful DJ Ötzi) without climbing ever to the top.

Yan's German chart comments - Issue date 24.07

Not much happening in this week's singles chart, especially in terms of new entries, with Emilliana Torrini and her "Jungle Drum" making a month on the top. As the weeks before, she is followed by Cassandra Steen who so far fails to go to the first position. Boosted by a physical release, Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" jumps 8-3, thus equalling the success of the first single of their current album "The END". Still, we expect the LP to be able to produce a #1 single in Germany too. Kudos also to Cascada, whose "Evacuate the Dancefloor" manages to reach the #5 peak position of their best performing single so far in Germany "Everytime We Touch". To conclude the top ten, let's play attention to the continuing surprising rise of Gossip and their great "Heavy Cross", this week at #9.

Slowly Michael Jackson starts to retreat from the first positions of the singles chart, and this time around we can find him as high as #19, where "Thriller" falls four places, followed by his #1 "They Don't Care About Us". He, however, continues to be the king of the albums chart, where despite three new entries in the top ten, the late singer holds 50% of the top ten, including the number one.

Further down the singles chart, at #34 German punk band Jennifer Rostock makes their biggest peak so far, despite being around for the last two years. "Du Willst Mir An Die Wäsche" is the pilot single of the second album of the Berlin band called "Der Film", which enters the albums this week at #13.

So no new entries straight in the top 50, with the highest being Sean Kingston's return with "Fire Burning" at #56. The song is the debut single of his second album, and despite a catchy one, fails for now to make the splash of his first single "Beautiful Girls". As long as Germany is concerned, I think he would struggle not to be a one-hit wonder.

The second-highest new entry belongs to the latest German children-friendly dance project Cherona, who already had a top 40 single with "Ching Chang Chong" some months ago. There have been only ten years after the original "The Rigga-Ding-Dong-Song" of Passion Fruit made #9 in Germany, being one of the best summer anthems ever at least for me. So it was too early for those Cherona people to touch it and ruin it...

And last, don't overlook Aloha From Hell's latest single "Can You Hear Me Boys", which despite landing at #79 is a great song :)

La Roux is going more international :D

IFTK has charted in UK, Ireland, Australia, some random east European country and now Germany :D

Very good memory. Say It right from Nelly Furtado was 7 weeks without a break at number 2 in the year 2007. (2-2-2-2-2-2-2-3-2-2-3-7.........) . B)

Xavier Naidoo's "Dieser Weg" was #2 for 8 consecutive weeks I think, all behind Madonna's "Hung Up".

The german top was maxium boring back then, with Melanie C also being #3 for all of these 8 weeks with "First Day Of My Life".
