No, I just generally don't want three AQs, regardless of the countries involved :( Tis tres unfair...but still, I'm like the only person who thinks the winner should miss out if they pass up on hosting so bleh.

If there's an odd number of participants, you need three autoqualifiers otherwise you have to have uneven semis - which is unfair on those drawn into the alrger semi as they have less of a chance of qualifying merely because of the luck of the draw. I'd personally much rather see only Tom qualify but people seem to be in favour of more unfairness re: autoqualifying, oddly enough. I think if you pass up hosting you should pass up the perk that comes with it, but eh.

But the thing is, Xylem, that Semis must be equal by size so if the number of entries is odd then there is inevitably 3 AQ's (or 1, which rules out the winner).

I don't care if you get the AQ or not, it's the fact that there's a third potential AQ in the first place :lol: I'd much rather with the contest at its current size that two be the absolute maximum for autoqualifiers but it doesn't help that Ben keeps winning and (fair enough) not wanting to host :lol:

I have to say I agree about the autoqualifiers tbh.. It just rules out more songs that could qualify. I dont REALLY see why if you pass up on hosting you should get an AQ because you win..

Of course it's not about me :P And re-thinking I may agree on the point that only the host should AQ. This is the fairest way.

 

I wish I wasn't gone for a week at the time the final results took place so i could host this contest :(

I agree, would be much easier if only the host qualify, if the semi's isn't the right, then the winner get the next AQ

Maybe the rule should change to just the host autoqualifies then :P Who decides this stuff?

Well, we need a poll on just about EVERYTHING these days thanks to people feeling left out if we don't let the people make every single decision, but I was under the impression people wanted the winner to always autoqualify? ANYWAY, unless we suddenly decide mods can have the power to do these things again (and given it isn't even really a rule), there's nothing I/we can do about it :(

I don't see the problem in having uneven semi finals really. The real Eurovision had uneven ones last year and the idea of autoqualifying Ukraine never came into consideration. :lol:

I guess people who already have a win in the contest wouldn't be against :heehee: Plus what arguements FOR the winner's AQ there actually are? If there's nothing to be arguing about - there's no dicussion.

Priscilla will do well, but will inevitably suffer as the people likely to vote for it will also be voting (probably in higher amounts) for Silly Boy...and maybe to a lesser extent, Sabotage

oh, and we did have an uneven semi a couple of contests back when Liam was disqualified, making it marginally harder for people in the other semi (the one I was in :snif:) to qualify
