Posted July 25, 200916 yr If you’ve been listening to the radio lately, it’s possible you’ve heard the soaring strains of Already Gone, the newest single off All I Ever Wanted. It’s very likely that you thought you’d heard the epic song before, albeit in a slightly different form. Kelly Clarkson collaborated with Ryan Tedder on the track, a dramatic ballad driven by a pounding heartbeat, twinkly piano and swooping strings. Unbeknownst to Clarkson, Tedder used suspiciously similar elements when he produced another recent mega-hit, Beyonce’s Halo. “Ryan and I met each other at the record label, before he was working with anyone else,” Clarkson begins, gritting her teeth. “He’s from Oklahoma, I’m from Texas; we got along really well and had some of the same influences. We wrote about six songs together, four or five of them made the album. It was all fine and dandy. I’d never heard of a song called Halo. Her album came out when my album was already being printed. No-one’s gonna be sittin’ at home, thinking ‘Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyonce and Kelly the same track to write to.’ No, they’re just gonna be saying I ripped someone off. I called Ryan and said, ‘I don’t understand. Why would you do that?’” The palpably frustrated Clarkson claims she “fought and fought” to try and prevent her label from releasing Already Gone as her third single, out of respect for Beyonce. “In the end, they’re releasing it without my consent,” she sighs. “It sucks, but it’s one of those things I have no control over. I already made my album. At this point, the record company can do whatever they want with it. It’s kind of a $h!tty situation, but.… You know, you learn.” Source
July 25, 200916 yr Don't understand her.. One moment she's saying how much she loves this song and all, and now this..
July 25, 200916 yr She has a right to be annoyed though. In fact I wish all other Beyonce "victims" would be as vocal as she has been with this. I adore the song, and I would be wounded if it wasn't released. But I can definately see where she is coming from. She's also probably just started to get vocal about it now, because people are probably asking her all the time about "You stold Beyonce's sound" etc... and she's just letting them know once and for all.
July 25, 200916 yr Exactly, I think it's a good thing she's telling everyone that she didn't 'steal' it
July 26, 200916 yr It is annoying, especially seeing as Kelly actually puts emotion into 'Already Gone' unlike Beyonce does with 'Halo'. 'Halo' got annoying very quickly if you ask me, I find it vastly overrated.
July 26, 200916 yr ^Agreed with Jack. I love it when Kelly gets vocal about the record label and producers  Not because it makes her seem like a bitch but cos she speaks the truth which a lot of artists dont. And she is particularly mean about it either, she just says what she feels, shes not all "yeah my record label is $h!t but i dont need them i can get another record deal if i wanted" shes more modest about it... I completely where shes coming from, i would feel just as upset about it... And has noone else noticed how someones party has been particularly quiet about the Halo situation... We never heard anything about her "stealing" it from Leona, and now nothing from this (yet)... Quite fishy no? So obviously something is going on with Beyonce's part.. EDIT: Oh LMFAO. Apparently shes "feuding" with Ryan Tedder now
July 26, 200916 yr Don't understand her.. One moment she's saying how much she loves this song and all, and now this.. Well she might still love the song, but just not want to release it for 'respect for Beyonce'.
July 26, 200916 yr f*** the respect  Kelly had the song first, so it was beyonce that had no respect in the first place.
July 28, 200916 yr Come on guys.....leave Beyonce alone. She didn't "steal" anything...neither of them did. If anything, Ryan Tedder should be blamed for producing 2 songs which have a similar backing track!!!
July 29, 200916 yr Clarkson's Producer -- I Would Never 'Dupe' Kelly The guy Kelly Clarkson blames for allegedly making her look like a song-stealing rip-off artist claims he would never 'dupe' anyone -- and the idea is both "hurtful and absurd." Clarkson basically threw producer Ryan Tedder under the bus after people pointed out her new single "Already Gone" has the same backing track as Beyonce's single, "Halo" -- which are both songs Tedder produced. Now, Tedder is firing back at Clarkson with the following statement: "Already Gone" is one of the best song I've written or produced since "Bleeding Love" and stands tall on it's own merits apart from "Halo". They are two entirely different songs conceptually, melodically, & lyrically and I would never try to dupe an artist such as Kelly Clarkson or Beyoncé into recording over the same musical track, the idea is both hurtful & absurd. I think when people hear "Already Gone" they will hear what I hear-one of the greatest female vocalists on earth giving her most haunting and heart-breaking performance on a song she helped write. I challenge people to listen and form their own opinions." http://www.tmz.com/2009/07/29/clarksons-pr...ver-dupe-kelly/
August 6, 200916 yr Author Kelly finally speaks about the Halo/AG thing...She was interviewed the other day on a radio station, and they asked her about it. The way they played the interview was throughout the morning, and played some of her answers, but, this person capped just the Kelly parts and put them together. The part they talk about Halo/AG starts at about the 2:37 mark: i1Mdxpn2Ot4
September 3, 200915 yr My goal when I started working on Leona's new album was to "NOT" chase or be influenced by any of her previous hits- or any songs i've ever done with anyone else- including Bleeding Love. True artists do not look back to previous successes they look forward to creating new moments and songs the world can connect with in a different way. If you have something to say Ryan, just say it and dont get pissy in your blog -_- ARE WE IN HIGH SCHOOL AGAIN?
September 6, 200915 yr Lol Ryan wrote that in his Blog about Leona Lewis' new single and he was like i have not recycled any of my old songs etc. Obviously taking a jab at Kelly speaking out about AG and Halo.
