Very happy there's loyal fans sticking to the band :) In my opinion Jade replacing Keisha was the best thing to happen to the Suga's since "About you now".

Seriously?

About A Girl would have done so much better without Sugagate.

It was a hard week last week so I reckon even with Keisha it'd have stayed the same. I actually think it could've done a "No can do"... People just don't really remember Amelle is already quite an old member, she's been there for 4 years now, even if it seems 2! I think it was around time for something like this to happen...
Everyone thought About A Girl would at worst end up at #2, so #8 seems kind of a slap in the face for the song, i'll reserve judgement until Wear My Kiss, and the album get released but i think keisha being gone has definitley affected them in a not so good way, yes 41k is good, but i wonder how much it would have sold had keisha still been there, especially when Get Sexy did over 50k and it was nowhere near as good as this.

I wouldn't say that everyone thought that... People said it had no chance to be #1 or #2, Top3 at the highest. The major public predicted #4-5 for this song.

It has underperformed but at least it isn't falling like a stone.

I don't think people said that it would be #2 at least, they said it deserved #2 at least. There is no way the Sugas would be able to outsell all the X Factor-benefited artists like Leona, BEP, JLS and Cheryl (which they were ahead of at one stage). So the best they could settle for would be around #6, #7 or #8 (which ended up being dead close if you look at last weeks sales). Had no idea how N-Dubz outsold Sugas maybe because it's a first single. So #8 really isn't a slap in the face, the sales are fantastic. And they're holding up really well at #12 now.

The thing is, if people could just get over the Keisha incident and stop making such a drama of it than it already was, the group would be doing so much better. It's hard for the girls to go up and perform with people verbally abusing them over Twitter or screaming "Sugasnakes", or everytime the word Sugababes comes up, the Keisha incident always brought up in one way or another, and that is only negative publicity and detracts more and more people from supporting them and their music. Now can everyone just move on, the girls need our support and Keisha happy wear she is now. It's done and dusted, the show must go on. . .

Yeah, I agree with that comment.

The ladies were garnering a lot of interest this time round. They switched up their image + their sound, worked with the top producers, etc. "Get Sexy" was kinda bland and it still managed to do reasonably well. "About A Girl" is catchier and more appealing to the masses.

To be fair it was Get Sexy which had all the buzz around it being the first single, it was on adverts on music channels and everything, AAG barely got any promo leading up to release and was out on an extremely competitive week.

Yes, but the ladies were steadily getting back out there and the new line-up change not only rocked the boat but almost sank it.

It really didn't help that Amelle was in that rehab-esque place in Austria so they couldn't really do any promo at all.

i think the song would have done so much better if keisha was still in the band.

If Keisha was still in the band, I bet About A Girl would've sold at least 70k.

Can't wait for CIN, only half an hour to go. :w00t:

I wonder how big the effect will be.. hopefully enough to make About A Girl top 10 on iTunes again..
