So after 'Why R U' (rightfully) bombed they're releasing this Sean Garrett-produced banger as Amerie's next single:

Amazing. Her biggest shot at a US hit since 1 Thing probably, and I love that they've found a home for her horns in there.

It's alright, good track but I don't find it very catchy and the chorus seems to lack something. Better than Why R U though...

I thought it was going to be amazing after the amazing first verse (and the verses in general), but it practically feels like there's no chorus? I actually prefer Why R U strangely. Though I was just about the only one who liked that song.

The beat is hot though. Just wish there was more oomph to the chorus.

It reminds me of a cheap version of "Turnin' Me On". I do like it though, it's just missing that extra something to make it great.

Turnin' Me On is a great song but production-wise this is far better :heehee: Crisp as fuckery!
Oh, i dont know. It's ok, quite good actually, an improvement on Why R U, but still nothing on the likes of 1 Thing, Take Control and Gotta Work.
I really loved the track "Blow" from the Because I Love It mixtape, it didn't actually end up making it onto the album but it was a bloody good track. I definitely think it could have been a single, really fiery, passionate, she sang with conviction and rather catchy too. ^_^

'Blow' is her best song! Fucking brilliant. Meaningful lyrics and the hottest beat and delivery. 'Weekend Love' from the mixtape is great too.

This and Why R U are ace songs IMO. Adore them both, suprised at the "oomph lacking" labels they're getting :o but they aren't the most instant of songs I'd guess.

The music video gets shot next week and with her scheduled to perform at the VMAs and VH1 Hip Hop Honours next month this could become a suprise hit.

She seems to be focusing on the US a lot more with this era too, confirmed 3rd single "Pretty Brown Eyes" which features the one and only American R&B sweetheart Trey Songz sort-of substantiates this. Not his biggest fan but his latest track "I Need A Girl" is actually quite epic so PBE could be quite great and most probably the album launcher as well

'Blow' was truly brilliant, I'm still mystified to this day how that didn't make the album.

It didn't make it because Amerie or her label didn't own the rights to the backing track she was freestyling over.

Here is the quite immense single cover:

I can't help but laugh looking at it. It's so OTT! Amazing though.
