I will :D

The Eurovision album has been added to UK iTunes, but the following are album only and therefore won't be able to chart, no matter how popular they are;

Belgium

Germany

Spain

France

UK

Norway

Sweden

HOWEVER, the ones I've bolded are available elsewhere on iTunes, as in digital singles. Which means that the only ones not available, and thus not able to chart (or purchase) in the UK are That Sounds Good To Me () and Satellite :drama: We can't even buy our own entry? I did take the opportunity to send the following e-mail to iTunes though :kink:

Hi, I see that the Eurovision 2010 compilation has been added to iTunes but there are a few countries that are 'album only' which is fine in the case of five of them that can be brought from elsewhere on the site, but two aren't available for purchase at all. The German entry, Satellite by Lena Meyer-Landrut, which as the bookies favourite would I imagine be very popular and in demand come the days following the contest a la Fairytale by Alexander Rybak which managed to peak at #3 on the UK iTunes chart.

The other one absence being That Sounds Good To Me by Josh Dubovie, which is indeed our own UK entry! It seems rather bizarre that out of the 39 songs in the contest, the two not available on iTunes will be the two likely to be the most popular - our own entry, and an entry likely to win. Should these songs cease to remain unavailable, I expect there will be some discontent following the contest as the public are unable to purchase these two songs. Are they planned to be released in the next week or so do you know, or will they remain unavailable? Satellite in particular is a favourite of mine and I know has been #1 in Germany for a while. I thought today would be the day that I could finally get hold of the track but it's still not available unless I buy the entire album!

Thanks in advance for your help and time.

Richard

it's times like these when my two loves - the chart and Eurovision - combine together to make me sound like some obsessed loon, that I begin to worry :drama: Ok, I know I'm vastly overrating the chart potential of Satellite (not to mention the fact that I already have Lena's album on CD) but to an ESC uneducated iTunes worker, they won't know any different :kink:

One thing I've noticed that I never noticed before, The Netherlands seem to have this thing where the fact that they've DNQed so much is really obvious (it is for me anyway)

But Belgium have struggled alot too, the last time they qualified for the final was 2004 (and they came 22nd)

I hope Tom Dice can do well for them :cheer:

Belgium have at least sent some decent songs in this period (what the hell happened to Je T'adore?) but Netherlands generally send one of the five worst songs in the contest without fail every year  :(

Sweden and Belgium additions are quite bozarre! I could understand the others since they're all AQ. But then we have another weird thing - no UK or Germany. LOL NO UK on BRITISH ITUNES HAHAHAHAHAHA  :kink:

It's a conspiracy - people are so certain that Josh will be the first UK entrant to miss the chart that he's not even going to get the chance to prove this theory :heehee:

It's ridiculous how so few songs are "album only". They might aswell put them all up separately, unless it's because there's going to be a big official release date in the near future for Josh and Lena :kink:

Have you seen Belgium's rehearsal? STUNNING. I agree about Netherlands, but I sort of like it this year

Anyway, Josh will get released as a single later. About Lena, no idea, but I think unless it wins that's how it'll stay, though I think it will get big UK points.

No, I'm not bothering with the rehearsals at all this year, I want to be surprised on the night and make my judgements from that. I've always loved Me & My Guitar though and will be gutted if it doesn't make the final.

How much later  there's no news on a release whatsoever and the contest will be done and dusted two weeks today! It basically has to be a next Monday release or nothing at all!

I just fell in love with it properly in the last week, though I wanted Belgium to win for several years now

No idea. The whole campaign around this year's UK entry has been so vague :( It says on Mike Stock's website "the song will also be released as a single". Then again, considering the comp has the old version of the song on it, just as well :drama:

I guess it's nothing new. Daz Sampson's single/ESC album mixes were quite a bit different, and Scooch's single mix threw in an extra 'we're singing' line before the 'ba-ba-da' bit  I haven't listened to the old version in weeks until today, and it's every bit as bland as I remembered :( thank goodness he's not performing that version at the contest!

I might send a complaint to iTunes. If they get a certain amount of complaints, then surely they've got to do something about it :drama:

I've just got the CD and 'Apricot Stone' sounds really good on it :o. As does 'All About You'. Who'd've thought :P?

Finland's entry is the 'Hora Din Moldova' for me, a bit wth on first listen, but really good after a couple of listens .

Just made a reference to Estonia's 2001 winner () by Panel Tadar :/ some decent research has been done here then...
