Keri Hilson recently revealed in an interview that she is releasing 'Energy' as her next worldwide single everywhere except the US and Canada, where she'll be releasing 'Slow Dance'. She stated that she wants to prove that she can be successful even without collaborations and guest vocalists.

I love "Slow Dance", even if it's not the general consensus. It's such a great slow jam with smooth, slick production. "Energy" on the other hand is just generic. It's a lame choice of single for the UK.

Not doing bad considering it's only just begun to receive airplay. I'm hoping that it'll get a boost from the success of 'Knock You Down' and that were in for a pleasant surprise chart-wise. :)

'Energy' is probably the most UK-friendly/suitable for release. Far more suitable for the UK than 'Slow Dance' that's for sure :heehee:
Good choice :D I can see 'Energy' going Top 10 here! Me's happy ^_^

Energy .

Still love it as one of my highest rated BJSC entries. :w00t:.

I agree with this TOTALLY!!! It is beyond a doubt the best song she could have gone with next for the UK.....and it is also my favourite Keri track! I hope it gets top ten :)

Worst single choices for both the UK and US tbh. :o "Energy" is so generic and the worst off the album imo, should flop like it did in the US. "Slow Dance" is the definition of an album track and not a single. "Turnin Me On" would be the perfect 3rd UK single, it's the best on the album even if it does feature Lil Wayne in one verse that shouldn't rule it out, it's too sublime not to release :/ And if she did want to show her solo side, "Alienated" and "How Does It Feel" would've been miles better as single choices. But then again I couldn't stand "Knock You Down" and look how huge it turned out. .
I think the UK will eat up 'Energy', as generic as it is, its soaring chorus makes it really radio-friendly, and I think it will be able to go Top 10. While 'Alienated' is an amazing song, I don't think I could see it doing too well as a single, in fact contrary to that interviewer, I think there are very few songs on 'In a perfect world...' that could stand as singles.
^ Good point. Her album isn't very instant at all, where "Energy" is. . Thing is, the more you listen to it the more screechy and generic it starts sounding. But radio will eat up, where songs like "Alienated", "Intuition", "How Does It Feel" will struggle to even be playlisted. But "Turnin Me On" is just as radio friendly, so if that is her 4th single I'd be really pleased that at least 2 out of the 4 singles I've actually liked. Album is very strong but like you said most of the tracks don't scream 'single' the exact opposite of albums like "The Fame" or "Good Girl Gone Bad" but "In A Perfect World" is definitely in the same league as those two albums IMO. Just more groupy.

I love 'Turning Me On' :(

but I also like Energy so its all good.

I would have thought the UK would have got Turnin Me On as the 4th release...but now hearing that she is planning a re-release for Xmas time, i bet we get a whole new track instead! If only they had not bothered with Return the Favour as a single anywhere....and just released Knock You Down first in the UK, Turning Me On 2nd and then Energy 3rd and THEN go with a re-release of the album with a hot new single! Ah well.....
Glad we're getting Energy, hopefully it's a hit here.

As much as I like 'Return the Favor' it was 2 years too late. It flopped, BIG time in US (So did 'Energy' however, that's always been more UK friendly). That should have given them an indication. I agree with you. 'Knock You Down' 1st, 'Turnin' Me On' 2nd and 'Energy' 3rd would have been perfect for her.

I really can't wait for the Re-Release  Hopefully they don't fuck it up this time

Im glad I didn't buy the album when it came out.....cos now I can buy the re-release when it comes out :D
Many of the tracks on her album are too urban for the UK. This is definitely a single it's all over the music channels.
