Yesterday, Sunday Star magazine published an article which might just lead readers to believe that Rachel's next solo album will lean more toward the 'hip hop' sound. It even specifically states that she asked producer Tah Mac for one of his tunes.

The article reads:

"Rachel Stevens is going Hip Hop. Fed up with her faltering pop career, the tiny 27-year-old has been secretly sniffing around for cool tunes to record. She was gutted to find out a particular favourite by hot producer Tah Mac had been snapped up by ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena, 20.

A source said "Rachel was in New York and requested a meeting with Tah. She told him that she had heard a demo of a track called "Give Back" and wanted to record it as she's determined to change her sound. Rachel was visably gutted when She was told that Mutya had been given the rights to the song She had her heart set on.

Tah's new single "Get up" featuring ex So Solid member JD and new urban boy Royston is out on Monday and features Sugababe Kiesha Buchannan in the video."

This article seems to have no real credibility as any one of us could make up something extremely similar, release the story to some trashy magazine/paper, and thus, get rich off of a lie.

However, because the validity of this article remains in questons as to wether or not it is in fact true, we would like to encourage you all to read with an open mind. That is, realize it's c**p from a gossip column, but yet, still might have some truth to it.

Check out Mutya's solo material (ie. "Love Story") at her Music Myspace.

Well it's actually what I was thinking she might do and I hope to GOD it's not true :o It's the Daily Star so it probably isn't. ;)

Hip Hop Rachel? What, like Victoria Beckham did extremely well a couple of years ago -_-

A very bad move I think, but it MIGHT just work. Depends who she's working with.
