Yeahh I echo what the other two have said. Christian Shepherd tells jack "some of them have died before you, and some of them long after" (pre-Jack's death; Locke, Shannon, Boone etc.) and post-Jack (Kate, Hurley, Desmond, Sawyer etc...). Presumably when they were all over-taken by the light at the end they moved on to the next stage of the afterlive that was even greater.

Or, South Park style, instead of going to heaven they were all taken to hell. Sadly, that made the cutting room floor.

One year today it ended :(

felt compelled to bump this up. so many epic Lost discussions I've had on here over the years. mainly with Rooney.

Doesn't feel like a year! Genius TV show. Don't think I'll ever be emotionally invovled in a TV as LOST, and I don't think any show/network will be able to replicate the success the show had for it's style. Still annoyed they killed the real Locke off so early though.

i'm very sure i'll never get emotionally attached to a story as much as I did with Lost again, really was something special. will always have a place in my heart.

i have the complete blu ray boxset, just finished season 1, although i have already rewatched the whole six seasons once since it finished.

I really don't understand why some people think the whole island was purgatory. It was spelled out pretty clearly by Christian Shepherd in the final scene that it wasn't.

The flash sideways were confusing, and I had no idea what life they were accept in any life form they will always find each other and move on.

They'd been saying from day one it wasn't purgatory but they really were on this island. Never understood how this rumour persisted.

It was the shot at the end of the plane crash - it was used as a symbolic gesture, reminding everyone of what happened, and people inferred that it meant they had all died in the crash. Baffled me, really made me wonder if people were actually watching the show as the final scene with Christian and Jack spells everything out!
