Give it a few more performance and he will have perfected it and it will be brilliant live. He was obviously a bit taken back by the reaction. Thought he came accross really well. Having watched it again, I thought his performance itself was great but vocally he was clearly too nervous too sing it properly and who could blame him. It is a very hard song to sing as the verses are more speaking than singing. Rob's voice is best when doing a ballad or something deep like his amazing performance of My Way. ^_^

Overall though I am very pleased and it is so f***ing great to have the Robster back :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :cheer: :w00t:

People saying he was on drugs. They obviously dont know Rob as a performer very well. Clearly it was just Rob in his hyper mood, all excited and very enthusiastic. He has always had that mad look about him when performances, especially in his eyes. No way would he be on drugs after everything. He prob had bucket loads of coffee
Agree Spark...hard song to sing live....

He had the guts to sing it live, I admire him for that

That's great that he sings live, because if he stop do that, I would stop listening him. Yes, I'm serious. And I'm saying that partly because I'm 99% sure that Robbie won't stop sing live ever.

Btw, I like video, think he looked so happy, and it's same old Robbie... Just, I'm not sure the band is playing song, but oh well...

Let Me Entertain You: Robbie Williams makes return as Amy Winehouse shines on 'Strictly'

http://i34.tinypic.com/if4pzc.jpg

Fans of Britain's two biggest reality shows were in for a real treat this weekend with notable musical comebacks from not one but two high profile stars.

Causing great excitement among both the contestants and the audience on the X Factor was Robbie Williams, who stepped back into the spotlight to perform his new single Bodies.

And judging by the former Take That star's enthusiasm and energy on stage it was as much a chance to reconnect with his fans as it was to promote his new song.

The charismatic 35-year-old pop star, who at times appeared overwhelmed by the warm response, was certainly on form.

He shook hands and welcomed members of the crowd during his live rendition, at one point shouting out "It's good to be back."

And after giving his first performance in the UK since 2006, the Angels singer went out of his way to thank everyone for the opportunity.

Robbie's turn on the show – he also mentored the finalists this week – was not the only X Factor-related news.

Rob has blogged about last night :cheer:

X-FACTOR...

Robert Williams

I wasn't as nervous as i thought i was going to be...Until The friggin sliding door wouldn't open....

Rehearsals went well..Though, Bodies isn't the easiest of songs to perform and getting back into the swing of things has felt somewhat alien. I did feel like "Yeah, i can pull this off"......

Anyway, Back in the dressing room waiting to go on Wasn't the dreadful anxiety fest that i thought it was going to be..

I hung out with the contestants, got my hair did, went and said hello to Simon, had some sushi and waited....

"All right Rob, It's time to go" Back packs on It's working, Legs feel stable, head's in the right place...let's do it...

For extra confidence i started to hum the theme tune from Rocky in my head.....it was working...So relaxed, So excited, Goosepimply in fact.....

So i'm stood behind the Jumbo screen waiting to go and peacock...Dermot does a lovely introduction "Blah,blah,blah..lovely stuff and niceties...Ladies and gentlemen Robbie Williams!''

At this point in the rehearsals the music starts....The doors open.....BUT LIVE.....The music starts...The Doors don't open..

So we're a few seconds in And the doors remain closed a few more seconds and they're still closed......

Now i don't know if you've ever had 10 million (plus) people ready to judge you on your first performance back in 3 years....

But let me tell you, if the door between you and them isn't opening that's enough to throw you right off your stride..I don't know if you saw but i had to wedge it open myself...That wasn't part of the show..That was pure brute strength and now heavy nerves shifting something that i probably wouldn't be able to move in the cold light of day........

So there's a bad start..I had a whole pose planned and what not.. but that went out of the window...

Anyway i was so thrown that i started saying to myself...."OH GOD,what did God give me? $h!t Did he give me sunshine or a lay line?OH lord oh lord"

Then the mouth opened and by the grace of the big man himself the right words fell out......Oh praise be! I'm in!....

So after a bizarrely odd start to the 3.30 minutes i started to find my feet.....

The audience were Immense and the Love in the room was palpable......It all felt so electric....Like 3 years of anxiety leaving my body

So happy right now...So pleased...I think the boy's back

I knew there was a problem with the door  Glad he is pleased with how it all went. I just hope he doesnt read some of the vile comments around the net about him being on drugs etc.

He did so well considering it was his first performance in 3 years, and fist of Bodies. Ok, it was no Live 8 performance but cant be compared really. I cant wait to see him sing it more - it will just get better and better live. I am so looking forward to next Tuesday

Aw, he's cute. I'm glad we can read all that.

AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!

Thank God he's back!!

OMG :o

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT

no kidding here!

The voice wasnt too good at times but the performance  and the way he looks  the dancing  and the cheekyness

Im blown away  falling in love all over again

He looked REALLY scared though during the first sentences he sang, I think he was terrified.

I LOVE YOU ROBBIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

hear me shout

Well, I really enjoyed the performance. He was a bit nervous and manic and OTT but hey, that's Robbie!

And I knew there was something up with those doors at the start. It just didn't look right the way he squeezed through them onto the stage. But again, cock-ups tend to follow Robbie so something like that was only to be expected I suppose.

At least he sang Live. Unlike somebody else on the show. :P

I can't believe all the 'drug' accusations. Even on this Board too.

Its incredible the number of doctors who frequent internet forums.....

True.

He should just have mimed and surrounded himself with some dancers :D

I have to say I despair at the majority of posters on this site who are happy to prefer the winner of last years' contest miming over a pre recorded live vocal (which she got hysterically wrong coming out of Flo Rida's rap); over the return of the Robster, at least he sung live, and put on his usual charismatic performance.

As for the drugs allegations .... FFS, Robbie has always had big eyes, period, and was clearly hyped up on nerves after three years away, adrenaline, and probably a lot of caffeine (coffee/red bull).

Still I guess most X-Factor viewers would rather watch the odious talent free zone that is Danyl than the best British live performer since Freddie Mercury.

I am not sorry that he sung live & never would be ..I do not like miming & I guess Robbie does not either....tbh I am kinda sorry he ever did XF but that is only because he is in a different league & just does not fit in to a manufactured show ...that is my thinking on it !!!!...he got the publicity he needed to let people know he was back & next Tuesday on BBC Proms the songs from his new album will speak for themselves ...

Next Tuesday is more Robbies style where he will be the Ringmaster & will have total control of what is going on.....no sticky doors next time... :P

& Alexandra was good ...she looked like a popstar ...even if she was miming....good luck to her ...

Spot on Richard - I agree completelly

Robbie has always had mad looking eyes when he is performing in an energetic manner. He puts them on, generally at the end of a performance. Why people are being so narrow minded about it I do not know. There is just no way he would be on cocaine in his first performance in 3 years. No way would he risk it, and to be honest, there is no way his manager Tim and David, or Josie would let him perform. After all he has been through with drugs over the years, now he is finally happy in his personal life, I simply do not believe he would be on drugs. And frankly I am fuming with some of the articles, especially the one by the braindead 3am bitches. To quote posts of DS members, who generally despise Robbie and are at times extremly ignorant, and call them 'fans' is just infuriating. And to dare compare his performance with that of Britney from last year when she mimed is disracful, when he was the only one singing completelly live  I wouldnt blame him at all for just saying 'f*** it, I do not need this $h!t' and go back to LA. I hope that doesnt happen and he puts on an amazing performance in 7 days time. It will be the biggest cinematic live event in European history, so alot of pressure again, but as it has been said, it will be his show this time. Hopefully his managment do not just stand by and watch the media try and start their negetive campain once again. -_-
