Posted August 15, 200915 yr Sarah Dawn Finer competed in this years Melodifestivalen for Sweden with 'Moving On' Here is her next single: HGW-QNUGllA Her album Moving On (same title as her Melodifestivalen Song) will be released soon, and in the UK in the future, Here is a preview of the upcoming Album: SvP1d2P-v-k
August 15, 200915 yr a UK release? how pointless  I do love Sarah, she was hilarious/cringey presenting/singing the Swedish votes on Eurovision I prefer I Remember Love to Moving On though, the former could have been a big radio hit here I reckon because it's a simple yet powerful ballad, like Daniel Merriweather's Red or Atomic Kitten's Whole Again whereas Moving On is more complex/schlager sounding
August 15, 200915 yr I do really like 'Standing Strong', can't find it anywhere to buy. It does remind me of a cheap sounding Tedder production but its good stuff.
August 15, 200915 yr I Remember Love could be huge here, I agree. I don't see that Aaron said anything about what would be the lead single anyway...
August 15, 200915 yr Author I Remember Love could be huge here, I agree. I don't see that Aaron said anything about what would be the lead single anyway... I haven't got an idea, I'd assume it would be Standing Strong, as Moving On didn't have a music video. I've never heard I Remember Love though.
August 15, 200915 yr this video makes me cry with this song attached to it  very poignant for a schlager ballad, i.e. it was probably written in 5 minutes; lovely song though, it's crying out to be an X Factor classic, I bet loads of people sing it on Sweden's 'Idols' every year at the auditions :o rWLfV1sKuaE came 4th in MF 2007, and deservedly so, behind a fully male, yet equally stunning top 3 too may I add  Westlife could easily cover this, has a key change and a gospel choir, it would become a classic for them
August 16, 200915 yr I really like the sound of the album, I can't wait until it comes out. The single is kind of Halo-ish, and I was considering entering it for the next Buzzjack Song Contest but I'm not so sure any more. As for I Remember Love having potential for being a UK hit....well I've noticed some people on here getting a little bit carried away after the success of Agnes :P Edited August 16, 200915 yr by Peter30
August 16, 200915 yr ok, maybe I Remember Love wouldn't be a hit here for 100 reasons, she'd never get support from the UK media being the biggest, but it does sound more like the sort of thing that the UK might take to, moreso than Moving On anyway...
August 16, 200915 yr really like this on first listen, it's like a cross between Beyonce's Halo, Alicia Keys' No One and Ace Of Base's Life Is A Flower! I see it's already on UK iTunes too, as is her new album :o they really should try and push her here!
August 16, 200915 yr Yeah, I never listened to the new song before now, but it's really gorgeous. I don't usually go for mid-tempo, but this is fine fine fine, and after Agnes could surely be a UK hit!

I don't usually go for mid-tempo, but this is fine fine fine, and after Agnes could surely be a UK hit! Again, I don't quite understand this sense of people getting carried away because of Agnes (who is alot closer to September in the grand scheme of things) having a successful single over here... It doesn't mean that the British public are suddenly open to Swedish artists as a direct result of Release Me being a success. It's a fantastic song and probably would have been a hit regardless of who sang it whether Swedish, British or Mongolian :P Edited August 16, 200915 yr by Peter30
August 17, 200915 yr Again, I don't quite understand this sense of people getting carried away because of Agnes (who is alot closer to September in the grand scheme of things) having a successful single over here... It doesn't mean that the British public are suddenly open to Swedish artists as a direct result of Release Me being a success. It's a fantastic song and probably would have been a hit regardless of who sang it whether Swedish, British or Mongolian :P I expect the British public would be more open to a lot more variety than you would think, if they got enough airtime...Agnes got a-listed on Radio 1 and was rewarded with a huge hit...not that her success was fully down to them of course, you have to have a great song to have a big hit like that anyway However, if Radio 1 took a chance and a-listed a Sarah Dawn Finer song, what's to say it couldn't be a top ten hit here? She's just an example though, there are millions of artists that don't get any UK airtime, and subsequently fail to have hits here...Radio 1 would be so much better with me in charge of the playlists, variety would be the key :kink: but most good songs just need exposure to break through, and for every great song playlisted by Radio 1, there are 1000 more that aren't :(
August 20, 200915 yr there's an advert link thing for this album on the front page of Ireland's iTunes... are they launching her there now?
August 20, 200915 yr ok, maybe I Remember Love wouldn't be a hit here for 100 reasons, she'd never get support from the UK media being the biggest, but it does sound more like the sort of thing that the UK might take to, moreso than Moving On anyway... Really Halo-y at the start. :o I have to say i quite like it. :) It's nothing amazing though...
August 20, 200915 yr I think that's the general consensus it's the same way I felt about Moving On, needed something a little bit more to be truly amazing, but 'twas very good nonetheless...it does sound like it's from both 1998 (Ace of Base, Desree) and 2009 (Beyonce, Ryan Tedder, Alicia Keys) so it's rather odd to listen to for me musically  if Ryan Tedder was having a happy day, this is what he'd write!
August 25, 200915 yr Got the album now and its pleasant enough overall but nothing matches 'Standing Strong'. 09.0 - Standing Strong (Been loving this song lately, really does remind me of a Tedder track) 06.5 - Stupid (Fairly average filler) 08.0 - Anything Tonight (This reminds me of a cross between Texas 'Summer Sun' and a lost Max Martin track from the 90s) 08.0 - Moving On (I always found it just average but as the months have gone by its grown) 08.5 - Virus (Great production on this, very dark, good stuff) 06.0 - Is That Enough (Typical Celine Dion/Mariah Carey esque ballad) 07.5 - Not The One (So 90's sounding, can see this growing a lot) 07.0 - Right Track (Nice summery song, pleasant) 06.5 - I Don't Need Your Love Song (Reminds me of that Maria Haus Storeng song 'Hold On' but not as good) 04.0 - Does She Know You (Yawn) 08.0 - What If This Is Love (Another jazzy influenced, nice summery warm song) 06.0 - For A Friend (One of the less dull ballads) 08.0 Don't Come Knocking (Very Amy Winehouse sounding to be honest, liking it) Overall - 7.0 - A nice enough album actually, its all just pleasant though, a load of growers and overall production wise its like a cross between Amy Winehouse and Celine Dion .
