There were definitely some pre-recorded notes in there, but the majority was live. It still doesn't match her peak, but I don't know why people expect this. It's the first performance in a long time where I thought "man, she's REALLY putting effort into this".

31 now, and in fairness 'Happy' is a lead/comeback single!

 

I love Happy. But Leona isn't big enough in the US to have a comeback single. She has only had two hits in America so far, with Happy following suit.

 

The majority of people would recognize her more as the "chick who sang Bleeding Love" rather then Leona Lewis.

Oh no not another classic ruined by "THE WHARBLER" i used to like this song a classic 80s power ballad. Now i fear its going to become one of the most hated now Miss Carey has her hands on it, an effort to revive her flagging were not Obssessed with her career.

Oddly enough, that was one of my most hated 80s power ballads anyway. If anything, Mariah covering it has made me like it slightly more.

It's hard to believe she manages this bunch of high notes at the end considering she's quite struggling before that. I bet the end was pre-recorded, you don't even get any close up during the end of the performance.

I love the musical intro.

 

Not too keen on the whispery voice, this song requires more power in my opinion. This is meant to be a powerful song and she doesn't really do it justice. Not too sure about the use of backing vocals either, think they are overused in the chorus.

 

Overall, love it as it is a ballad. Just not too certain about the points raised above. :)

It was meant to have been filmed in September but nobody knows whether it happened. If it did they'd surely have the good sense to put it out now so I guess it was never shot.

Mariah commented on her Twitter though like "thanks for everyone who turned up to the IWKWLI shoot today". Unless she was talking about a live performance, I think they are going to push H.A.T.E.U now anyway.

I think the album is still coming out here on the 16th, but I think it'd just be best cancelled really. They've ditched "Obsessed" and this song has no video and only airplay on stations like Heart, but I haven't heard it on there in a while...

It's not going to be an official release though, it's a download release on the same day as the release of Memoirs, so it will probably just be cherry-picked off the album.
