November 15, 200915 yr Random.org let everyone down, there are so many great songs that missed the final because of the ridiculous unbalance in the semis :drama: looks like I'm Going For Your Brother may even have qualified had it been in semi 1, I can't believe it almost qualified out of semi 2 considering it only scraped a top ten place originally!
November 15, 200915 yr We should dismiss random.org as our sponsors. They are like Simon Cowell now. Setting everything up. :drama: I was a victim too. Several times. :( Edited November 15, 200915 yr by Pável
November 15, 200915 yr Random.org don't make the decisions, they just randomise. Un/luck of the draw bitches :smoke:
November 15, 200915 yr looks like I'm Going For Your Brother may even have qualified had it been in semi 1, I can't believe it almost qualified out of semi 2 considering it only scraped a top ten place originally! I believe we think differently when deciding our votes for something as grand as the "The best of". In a 'regular' BJSC contest, it's probably mostly about the songs we like, and how much we like them. But when evaluating all of the songs for nominations and voting in "The best of", we might be looking at the overall quality of a song - and in addition to that, we know the songs a lot better. Then it is mostly about the basic overall song quality, and then about what we like in the songs + how much we like them now. Seem somewhat correct? Edited November 15, 200915 yr by Freeze
November 15, 200915 yr I definitely vote differently in the best of to the normal contest... I'm not going to start discriminating all of the songs that later became UK hits in my votes for example, but on the other hand, I almost like to give an extra subconscious push to songs I adore that I wouldn't have discovered without the contest...making my overall votes quite a mixed bag
