just go back to the pure British pop sound for god sake Sugas, it's what you're best at and it's what we love you for :drama:

Hole In The Head, Push The Button are classics, Get Sexy is rather, sticking my head out on the block... sipid -_-

If Jay-Z has overtaken now, he's only going to carry on and keep growing as the week progresses.

At least 'Get Sexy' will chart higher than 'Girls' either way, and deservedly so.

and About You Now...

thing with Sugababes is that they were always about pop innovation in Britain, as much as I adored them, compare Atomic Kitten's 2002 output to Sugababes and you'll see that the latter were light years ahead in terms of style, vocals and production

but recently they just seem to be jumping on bandwagons and their credibility has gone from very high to quite low :(

Also iTunes isn't the be all and end all, As we have seen many times. Most recently last week when Taylor was top 40 all week but only managed #50 on the official and probably most prominent is Poker Face being far behind Noisettes on iTunes only to be #1 in the officials.

TBH i won't be disappointed with a #2 for Get Sexy as it'll be the first for a babes song and sales should be more than decent. But IMO RTT doesn't deserve a #1 Jay-Z is probably attracting 1/4 of the buyers as most people love Rihanna and Kanye so they will buy. I do like the song though.

In a reply to this, I think they had to do something that assured them commercial success this time around after the flop of the last era. It's also getting rid of their mumsy M&S image. I think About A Girl (the second single) is classic Sugababes with a modern twist as I've already stated earlier in this topic.

I think it's because GA came along and blew them out of the water :kink:

Girls Aloud have become better with time, whilst Sugababes have gradually become worse with time.

It's a trend that continues (almost - lest we forget "About You Now" which was actually very good) unabated with each subsequent era as far as I'm concerned.

GA and Sugababes have always co-existed but Sugababes always used to be one step ahead until probably 2006 when they both released their hits albums and for the first time GA had the upper hand, and have had ever since, About You Now aside, which was sadly a rather brilliant anomaly

I'm glad the Top 3 songs are v.close. Hopefully it will make for an interesting chart for the first time in about a year!

Personally I hope Get Sexy doesn't make it. I felt the same way as Cascada - they're quite good cheesy pop songs, but the simple fact is they rip off pretty much everything that's about at the moment (YES I know others do it too, but at least when they do it they don't make it so blatant).

Actually the "Change" era out sold he "Tangled Up era"

Well, that's a bit of exaggeration. :kink: But, it's odd how there is a slight battle between them atm here, when GA haven't even released anything!

I meant in terms of public perception as opposed to sales...

Tangled Up may not have sold as many but it was better critically received and spawned Call The Shots, Can't Speak French and Sexy! No, No, No which are all quite well thought of, whereas About You Now was miles better than anything else on Change (in my opinion of course :P)

I'm not trying to face them off against each other or start GA/Sugas war #9568 :heehee: I thought that both Change and Tangled Up were excellent, and I love both bands, but there's no getting away from the fact that since 2006 the tables have turned and GA have become a lot more respected than they were in the 2002-2005 period in which Sugababes were arguably in their prime

Is it Tuesday the midweeks are revealed?

Yes
