November 17, 200915 yr It's actually 40-2 in the chart today. 2 versions charting but when added she manages to claw her way into top 40 :)
November 17, 200915 yr so the Alan Titchmarsh show has helped her up the iTunes chart about 10 spots...imagine what promo on a show that people who know how to download watch might do :kink: she looked absolutely stunning there too, so beautiful  this song doesn't deserve to miss the top 40 :snif:
November 17, 200915 yr It's actually 40-2 in the chart today. 2 versions charting but when added she manages to claw her way into top 40 :) Oh right well thats good news in the grand scheme of things. What chance do you reckon she has of staying in there? Is there much likely to overtake her over the week? I suppose it's quite close...
November 18, 200915 yr Dumped from the Radio 1 playlist :( More bad news is that the album has been pushed back to February....oh dear, it's the beginning of the end...
November 18, 200915 yr Like I predicted. Stupid decision to release this when On & On has been a hit everywhere its been released. Plus its alot dancier and more radio friendly, which is what people want.
November 18, 200915 yr I actually really hope they don't go for On and On...it's too Europop for the UK, and quite midtempo. I really really hope the 3rd single (because there will be one apparently) is Love Me Senseless or the remix of Big Blue Wall. They both have that extra something special that Release Me had whereas I Need You Now was more of a run of the mill dance song. It's probably a good decision to hold back the album as well, because if it was released and flopped (which is would have done), there is no way in hell Radio 1 would have playlisted a third single. At least this way there is still vague hope. Although it does just seem it's dragging out the pain!
November 18, 200915 yr lol, as opposed to Release Me, that UKpop track. That was europop at its purest, hence its smash status across the continent. only On & On could become a hit at this point, but I think its too late anyway. Its hardly midtempo, its the danciest of the 3 singles imo. I Need You Now for such a supposedly "UK-friendly" track had 0 airplay support apart from Radio 1. I hardly doubt they will bother with anything else at this point. They didnt bother with September after "Can't Get Over", and that went top15...

Well fair enough, On and On would be a good bet, but I just can't see it...I can honestly see more chance with Love Me Senseless and Big Blue Wall, if for no other reason than they're similar to Release Me, and let's face it, with the song being alot bigger than the artist, people will want more of the same. And I did just have a bit of a laugh...somebody (who shall remain nameless as I think they frequent these forums) has taken all of this extremely hard!! Major Agnes fans will hopefully know who I'm talking about. Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed but it wasn't in the slightest bit unexpected.
November 18, 200915 yr And I did just have a bit of a laugh...somebody (who shall remain nameless as I think they frequent these forums) has taken all of this extremely hard!! Major Agnes fans will hopefully know who I'm talking about. I suppose you mean me? What have i done to you? No need to be mean.. Of course i have taken this hard, it´s the end of Agnes UK career and thats a BIG DEAL. This flopped, and badly! Most people thought it would go at least top30.. <_<
November 18, 200915 yr Dumped from the Radio 1 playlist :( More bad news is that the album has been pushed back to February....oh dear, it's the beginning of the end... oh no :( it will probably only get a digital release on iTunes (if we're lucky) and it's unlikely that there'll be a third single... I was really looking forward to the new tracks too! another one to cross off the xmas list, along with the Now 00's compilation that mysteriously vanished...
November 18, 200915 yr although I have to add, it definitely would have missed the top 75 in the xmas market, a few weeks after a flop single, so it probably actually wasn't a bad move at all from a personal perspective of wanting the new songs asap, it's devestating :snif: at least loads of people will get to hear I Need You Now via Now 74!
November 18, 200915 yr Bit suprised this has done so baddly. It was never heading for anything better than low top 20, but to only scrape the top 40 at best is a big let down. Hoping something can save her - im not sure if On & On will be able to do that though :(
November 18, 200915 yr once you've lost the momentum, it's incredibly hard to get another hit, because of the uphill struggle to get radio or TV to play you no matter how decent the song is I don't think we'll be seeing her in the UK charts again after this :snif:
November 19, 200915 yr Poor Agnes. I really had some hope for INYN :( So yea, it had been pushed back to Feb - preceded by the [currently planned] release of On and On.
November 19, 200915 yr As much as this has flopped harder than anybody expected, I don't think many people really expected it to be a big success, or for there to be a third single or successful album. Her UK career was always going to be shortlived, whether she was marketed as a dance artist or a pop artist. Dance music is a faceless genre, and more about producers then image, and it's so hard to forge a career in pure pop in the UK unless you come through the X Factor. At least Release Me was a huge hit, and I think this time next year and the year after, it will still get alot of club play and will fill floors all over the country. It's still rare that I go out without hearing it. And that is more than anybody could have possibly imagined for Agnes, or most Swedish pop artists in the UK, less than 12 months ago.
November 19, 200915 yr I completely agree obviously I hoped that she could be 'the one' that managed to outlive the success of her debut single a la Cascada, but it wasn't to be by the looks of it :(
November 19, 200915 yr Only just read about the album delay :( But anyway, as you say Rich, she has (re-)opened the floodgates, meaning that Swedish artists will look to making it big here again, and will release tracks. Some might flop, but there's every chance that one will catch light in the way release me did. Right now, I can imagine Elin Lanto - Love Made Me Stupid being a huge hit here... even if it's not that good :(
November 19, 200915 yr I doubt it, it seems that any average song from the US can be big here, but songs from Europe that are successful HAVE to be amazing, like Release Me/Cry For You  we've missed out on so many big Euro hits; If A Song Could Get Me You, Jungle Drum, Ayo Technology etc...all could be big here with radio support :(
November 19, 200915 yr Ayo Technology got a tiny bit, Jo Whiley liked it... I think there is still time for Jungle Drum and IASCGMY next year, they would both be huge on Radio 2, and i mean that as a complement
