FSR Rontvia XXXI BJSC announcement

 

The Daily Ront has reported that the Rontvian entry for BJSC XXXI is rumoured to be selected in a show called 'Rontvia welcomes back the stars of BJSC' in a special one off that will give five former artists a chance to represent the nation for a second time. Here are the five songs rumoured to be in contention;

 

> Andreas Johnson - One Man Army

> Anna Abreu - Hysteria

> Maria Haukaas Mittet - Glorious

> Sheelah - The Last Time

> Zowie - Bite Back

 

Between them they've been responsible for some of the country's most memorable entries, but who will get the chance to return?

 

Other tabloid reports suggest that if the contest doesn't get underway in the next couple of days, the nation won't be able to compete due to nationwide end of month internet throttling which has been crippling the nation - Youtube has been inaccessible for large parts of the month for the last four months.

Problem with any of these five songs is that they're all (imo) slightly or greatly weaker than the song I sent by the artist before. My usual policy is only to recycle an artist if you believe that you're sending a song stronger than any previous entry they've had - the only time I've recycled was indeed Anna - and I certainly believed that Music Everywhere blew Vinegar out of the water!

I wouldn't be allowed to send it anyway, I've sent the original in the past :P It's just as I'd expect an Eiffel 65 remix of it to sound - sound effects and piano! Just like their Bloodhound Gang and S Club 7 remixes that I heard in 2000!

 

I think Piquing is a word! It wasn't bad, but I haven't truly loved an Estonian entry since 2002, and in fact the 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2000 entries all rank inside my top three of their respective contests - seriously good run of form.

 

Failure? It came in 3rd place in arguably one of the strongest contests and then 3rd in the best of :o How could I expect it to compete with I Kissed A Girl and Just Dance which finished 1st and 2nd in BJSCVII, this is BuzzKatyGagaJack after all!
