I think you're right.

 

SF 99% of the times your punishment is DNQ, Final i think is a ban.

 

Not voting in either is for sure a one contest ban.

 

There are exceptions of course.

if you weant to be more strict, why not get rid of the 33% and introduce an auto-DNQ. We must be harsh on these slackers that think they can campaign to get themselves into the contest only the miss the bloody deadline!!!

33% cut is the punishment for non-voting semifinalists, it certainly does not ban you from the next contest.

No I think the 33% is good how it is, chances are they'll fail to qualify anyway. Even if they do make the final they might vote and we should give them the chance to vote.

 

I like how bjsc is kinda casual and I don't think I'd like it as much if the contest started getting so merciless, people would be afraid they wouldn't vote in time instead of being worried. Not a good athmosphere to have imo.
