'This is a beautiful thing!!!!

At her concert in Greensboro, NC, on Saturday night, Brit Brit debuted a new song on her Circus tour set list. She did a cover of Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know.

And she actually sang live!!!!!!!!

It was the first time she sang any song live during this whole tour!!!!!!

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Slowly but surely our beloved Brit Brit is rebuilding her confidence. And, hopefully, next tour there will be a lot more singing!'

Perez.

She sounds brilliant, its good to know that she can still sing live! :D

Hope a HQ version is on there soon

OMG! It's actually a very decent cover of it too! :o BRILLIANT!
I'm surprised at how well she sings it! The tone of her voice suits more rocky tracks than what she's currently doing..
I know I will sound like an a-hole and I probably am for saying this, but I think it is not normal for fans to get all excited and emotional for something she should be doing at every concert (singing live that is). Anyways, sitting here expecting the crucifiction now.

Yeah you're right. But the fact she hasn't but finally found the courage to do it again and do it well (after everyone thinking she couldn't sing as good anymore) is a bonus. Everyone was expecting her to mime everything and it was just a pleasant shock to see her do it live and pretty good. But overall I do actually agree.

BTW offtopic, but the cover in your sig is AMAZING! :o (The n is missing off of 'Collection' though :heehee:) but THAT would be a brilliant cover for the album!

Yeah, I agree it was some sort of SHOCK FACTOR to see her rocking the tune like that. I love it too and the media seems to be loving it too!

And about the sig, I've stolen it from someone at a forum, don't remember if it was exhale or heybritney to be frank  And yes :o the final 'n' on 'collection' is missing and I didn't realise until you told me!

it IS an amazing cover!!

but isn't it possible that this is pre-recorded?

It could well be pre-recorded but for some reason EVERYONE, even the media, are assuming this is Live. Even Perez Hilton is praising this performance. I, myself, do think it's completely LIVE, but I understand people who think it might be pre-recorded.

I don't think it's pre-recorded as you can hear she's messing up the lyrcis a bit in the middle

which is adorable

Yupp, also the volume of her mic goes up and down which would be stable if this was pre-recorded.

It's not pre-recorded because she f***ed up the lyrics at one point. If you want an example of pre-recorded go listen to the Circus opening. At my show she did Everytime, Do Somethin', Boys, and parts of Womanizer live.

rofl at you asuming it was YOUR SHOW  Like this wasn't The Circus Starring: Britney Spears for Tyler:P joking :P

I bet she's sung live many times before, but the pre-recorded vocals are so high volumed that you can't even hear her in the videos posted on YouTube.

You Oughtta Know seems to be getting a lot praise again thanks to Beyonce & Britney! Why the sudden interest though? I love this song, but I find it weird that out of all of Alanis' well known songs (OK only "Ironic") they pick YON :/ Still I shouldn't wondering, I should be listening

Looks like it will be staying on the tour! Awesome! :D

There's a great video out there on YouTube of her performing it in Chicago. :D She sounds good singing it live.
