Presidential Statement on XXVIII

I would personally like to thank everyone who voted for Ashton's 28th entry to the Buzzjack Song Contest and helped us achieve our debut victory, smashing the most appearances before winning record in the process. It means so much to Ashton to have been able to bring BJSC it's first winner not to be sung in English. I can confirm as head of the ASC that we will be hosting the 29th Buzzjack Song Contest. Venues are still to be finalised, but the contest will take place in the Ashtonise capital city, Morpeth Cove.

SNÁ will be meeting with ISCBK and the national broadcasters of Numayania and Quotosibb in the forthcoming weeks to debate and discuss the contests future including potential format and rule changes. Ashton is honoured to be able to host the comeback and looks forward to seeing you all refreshed and renewed in Sept/Oct.

How apt that it went Eric then Molly!

Yes  one up on her boyfriend for once rather than the other way round. If only I'd known I was standing next to TWO future BJSC winners in that breakfast queue, my life would have been truly enhanced :kink:

She really did get one up on the bf! She's a record breaker, he's just another Scandisunginenglish winner.

Who'd have thunk it that 18months ago you'd be next to two future BJSC winners.

I never thought that my Foreign Language spin off entrant would provide me with a winning entry

It's Ashton's Time To Shine

BJUSC XXIX kicked off yesterday in Ashtonise capital Morpeth Cove with a glamorous party held in Media Square. The bash was still going strong at 10am the next morning with many of the delegates still partying it up.

The Federal Government confirmed that they have made no alterations to the day to day running of the City thus far but will be putting on a free bus service to the final arena from major destinations across the city including a bus every 3minutes along each of the cities 25 Busways.

The ASC reported this morning that all the tickets to the final shows have sold out, and hotels within 75miles of the city centre are at 100% occupancy.

Tourism Ashton have reported that hotel prices have not risen despite the contest.

Those without tickets can attend one of 500 big screens across the country organised by SNÁ or one of nearly 35,000,000 other venues across the country showing the event live.

The ASC and SNÁ are putting the final touches to the venue and TV schedules and are excited at continuing the momentum kick started by Molly Sandén's victory. There are victory banners and billboards across the nation and reports of 18 victory parties still underway, some 7 in Sjan Tivor alone.

Cristina continues Ashton's return to form

The home nation finished 9th in Morpeth Cove with Cristina Rus' I Don't See Ya. The Romanian entrant's top 10 finish has continued Ashton's return to form following a string of DNQ's and bad finishes. The ASC and SNÁ said that following last months victory, a top10 finish wasx exactly what they were hoping for.

The ASC and SNÁ are now concentrating their efforts on planning the third TBO which is set to undergo a major revamp.

Congrats. Good to see Ashton finally having some success again after the frankly ridiculous (considering how good most of them were) run of DNQ's.

Jess aims to make it three in a row for Ashton

Australian Jessica Mauboy, an Alumni of Australian Idol, has been unveiled as the Ashtonise entry to the 30th Buzzjack Unknown Song Contest with the bonus track from her second solo album 'Forget Your Name'.

The track has been released as the albums second single in Ashton and will be followed by the album in Christmas week. Following the top3 success of Get 'Em Girls Forget Your Name is expected to leap into the Ashtonise charts at #2 behind the long running #1 'Crazy Cool' by Queen Tone Damli.

The 4minute epic, which bares more than a passing resemblance in certain places to Jordan Sparks 'SOS', has been tasked with giving Ashton it's first trio of top 10's since the combination of True Believer, Hole In The Head and I Don't Know between BJSC IV and BJSC VI, a period that also saw Ashton's previous peak of #2 and only other top3. The ASC and SNÁ are hoping to build on the shocking success of Molly Sandén [Winner of BJSC XXVIII] to return the country to it's former glories.

We wish Jess the best of luck!

Ashton to start 2011 with a Scandi trio

According to our sources at the ASC Ashton is set to start 2011 with three successive Scandipop entries. At least one of the trio will be making their BJSC debut with Ashton. The ASC stunned industry experts in Ashton by passing over Tone Damli for Jessica Mauboy to represent Ashton in Yuxhaaq.

Jessica takes Ashton's third successive top 10

Australian Jessica Mauboy, at the heart of the Burn-gate and a near war, has smashed her way to Ashton's third successive top 10 for only the second time in Ashton's history. Forget Your Name, the Jordin Sparks inspired epic, which is currently at number 2 in the Ashtonise chart scored a massive 202 points to land 4th position for the country. Ashton has made a triumphant return to form in recent months. Jessica's 4th marks Ashton's 2nd top5 in three contests, a feat also achieved during Ashton's last trio of top 10's.

The ASC is reportedly thrilled at Jessica's success, and is hopeful to make it an unprecedented 4th top 10 in a row.

Well done on getting my 13points! I really like that Jessica song.

Sounds really familiar to a song I know but can't put my finger on :P.
