Reports from the Federal Republic this morning are suggesting that Kristiina Brask has been passed over for XXIV. The reports suggest that the ASC is going to confirm late and suss out the competition before deciding if they should take the plunge with Brask or wait a contest and enter her in XXV.

 

The ASC said it remained committed to sending Brask to XXIV and has learnt lessons from postponing artists too long [iN2U]

 

However, this blogger is unconvinced. What the ASC say and what the ASC do are usually two very different things.

The ASC sensationally revealed that the 25th entrant for Ashton was likely to be Australian. While they haven't ruled out a 5th appearance by the Sugababes to celebrate Ashton's 25th appearance, it is understood that the ASC, SNA and GRA are prefering an Aussie.

 

Currently linked with the spot is Jessica Mauboy, Natalie Bassingthwaighte/Rogue Traders v2.0 and Gabriella Cilmi.

 

We have been lead to believe that Delta Goodrem is not in contention for the spot at this moment in time. The ASC has not ruled Kate Miller-Heidke in or out and is searching for new Australian talent.

 

True Blue XXV is part of Vision 2010 and will follow on from XXIV's Search For A Star. Vision 2010 is Ashton's new entry strategy and will debut at February's contest. It is hoped that Vision 2010 will bring more than TBO to Ashton in 2010.
