x factor was kinda on... but i wasnt paying much attention..

ive never known a track hang about soooo loong then rise again. i mean, its good...but that good? after a year? surely theres no 'new' customers, surely everyones heard it, surely everyone who has wanted it has already bought it...

tbh .... i just dont get it.

Funny you should say that, my Mum was telling me the other day how much she loved that "Sex On Fire" song off X Factor and how she listened to clips of the album on iTunes and only liked that one song.

So, unfortunately, there are people who heard one of the biggest hits in the last year for the first time on X Factor. Just shows how much need there is for a TOTP style show, people clearly need music handed to them on a plate.

I think it's a trend we're going to see (and in some ways have already seen) through the download generation and our modern throw-away society. It's not as if you buy the physical record anymore and hang on to it - it gets downloaded to your PC and stays there as long as you want it. It can be accidentally or intentionally wiped, knocked out by a virus or just not transferred when buying a new PC. So then, it's easy and cheap enough to just download it again.

The same thing seems to be happening every Christmas now.

76-100 singles and albums time.

*I know the sales are coming from the original Rob-less version, but as a technicality I'm going to count Rob here anyway.

As an additional note, The Prodigy's Take Me To The Hospital at #38 is not a new entry, but up from #145.
