B*Witched become victims of reunion hoax

Thursday, October 1 2009, 12:50 BST

By Nick Levine, Music Editor

Posts on a social networking site claiming that B*Witched were to reform were a hoax, it has been confirmed.

Yesterday a Twitter account in the name of group member Edele Lynch claimed that the Irish girlband were planning a 2010 reunion without original member Siobhan O'Carroll.

However, Edele and sister Keavy have since insisted that the Twitter account is a fake.

"THIS IS NOT TRUE! Please do not listen to any of it. You will get the truth from us here," they told Buzzjack via their MySpace page.

The Lynch sisters also revealed that they have set up their own Twitter account to put off impostors.

"We set up one this morning called KeavyandEdele, this one is us!!!! No-one else is!!!! Terrible when someone pretends to be you!" they said.

Found this interesting off DS

Yea Nick asked me on Twitter if it was ok to use :D

Well chuffed to get a mention!

As soon as they spelt Shane's name wrong and claimed it was because "it looks better that way" I was suspicious. What a sad individual. You can tell the same person is running the Samantha Mumba and Kym Marsh ones too.

I got Kym Marsh already so that's her taken care off :cheer:

Sam Mumba well I don't care enough to bother with her lol.

Well thats a shame :( i was so looking foward to it happening...i wonder if that bit of info that said they were holding reunion talks was even true.
I really don't understand this! They may not be recording a third album but Edele, Keavy and Lindsey are performing as B*Witched in Belfast on Saturday. There are posters up about it!

I hate to say it.

But thank God. Yeah I enjoyed them back in the day... but now? Flop, imo.

I'll make sure to post photographs of the gig of the band who are "not reforming" this weekend :P

Or am I being silly and having a different definition of "reunion" to what it actually is? Is gigging around not considered getting back together just because they aren't releasing new material?

Is it really the 3 of them or just Ms Lynch performing?

Well when I originally heard a few weeks back it seemed to be all of them but now people are saying it's just the 3 of them, and I think there are only 3 in the posters.

I also heard from another friend that they performed in Edinburgh students union last weekend.

Ah good, thanks for confirmation.

Yea Ms Lynch seem to do being a lot of their own gigs recently. Some of their stuff isn't that terrible either
