The thing with opening things any earlier is that I have exams left on the 6th, 12th and 13th so opening on the 8th is already a little early for me. I'd like confirmation to close a few days after my last exam so I can have a bit of time to get the recap video together and listen to songs myself, since I shouldn't really be distracting myself during the exams. (though I probably will anyway)

I didn't think it would be likely that we'd need a semi-final this time so I didn't think about that and my exams, I don't think it would be ideal for the final to be later than the 22nd because the next date would be the 29th and I'm sure there were people against that date and any later would be July.

Hmm... well put your exams first Adi. We can work around you, it shouldn't be a problem for most people. ^_^

To be honest....I think a semi might be needed -_-

You've got Ojnoj, Nonsuch, Torchwood, priceville(heard this country might be back), plumptopia and Dr. Bombay's Tigerland(although he hasn't actually registered yet).

Then theres everyone who was in it last time.......it'll all depend on wheater they return for bjsc 7. The Buzzjack song contest is getting quite big, I wonder if it'll become as big as the one on esctoday forums? :o

But you need to put your exams first anyway, this is just a game after all. ^_^

I've got exams around that time too - Are you doing A-Levels? Just remember the exams are far more important so put them first! We can all wait another week if need be I'm sure ;)
i don't care whether you'll do it now or in a month really, because i will have exams anyway, and birthday :heehee: Can't wait for the contest :D

Yeah, it's my A Level exams. I'll go ahead with it opening on the 8th and that, hopefully the final will be the 22nd, but if I think we'll need a semi-final we'll have to re-schedule it obviously as the way I've arranged it right now will mean there's no room for a semi-final.

I think it will either be:

Opening - 8th

Closing/Voting - 17th

Deadline/Final - 22nd

OR

Opening - 8th

Closing/Semi-Voting - 18th

Semi-Deadline/Final Voting - 23rd

Deadline/Final - 29th

I know the second option sees everything spread out a bit much, but it's a bit of a dilemma. There's too much that needs to happen for the final to be the 22nd, but it's almost too long to leave it open until the 29th. :(

I'd rather do the first one as well, but with these new countries/old countries returning it looks like we may need a semi-final and the first option has no room for one.

The only way I could see us working around this is introducing some 'policy' that only the first 28 countries to confirm will be allowed to play for this month only. But this would probably lead to complications, such as countries confirming to get a slot, but never picking a song or having 28 people sign up and then a automatic qualifier wishing to play a bit late, meaning someone would be "chucked out".

If there isn't a problem with the final being on another day then I suppose the contest could have these dates at a squeeze:

Opening - 8th

Closing/Semi-Voting - 15th

Semi-Deadline/Final Voting - 19th

Deadline/Final - 22nd-24th

But that doesn't leave as long to confirm, which could mean less people signing up, which might mean we don't need a semi-final after all. :drama:

If anyone has suggestions for these four dates I'd like to hear them. The 8th and the 15th are the earliest I could possibly do the first two things on the list, it's just trying to leave voting opening long enough/not too long that I'm wondering about. I think the final should be on a Sunday but I'm not sure if there'd be enough time.

We probably won't need a semi-final tbh. Once it actually comes to signing up, I can't see more than 30 doing it tbh.
Opening - 8th

Closing/Semi-Voting - 15th

Semi-Deadline/Final Voting - 19th

Deadline/Final - 22nd-24th

Those look fine tbh.

Now that we're into the summer practically, is there any reason the final / semi-final has to be on a Sunday?

The semi-final could be on the Saturday and the final the following Tuesday / Wednesday for example?

Jeanette to Quotosibb!

HbTV confirmed earlier today that national star Jeanette will be flying the flag for Herzebania in the 7th Buzzjack Song Contest. In a national final to be broadcast next month, the public and juries will choose from four songs selected by Jeanette, her record company and HbTV.

In a change of strategy from last year, HbTV are sending a high profile act rather than emerging talent. Jeanette's current single "Hold The Line" is rumoured to be among the 4 potential entries, as well as new album tracks and unreleased songs.

Watch this space for details of the four songs and of the forthcoming national final.

Linda Király's song Can't Let Go will be the Sangrian entry for the 7th BuzzJack Song Contest wich will be held in Siobah, Quotosibb in June. Linda came first with 2 points ahead of Kate Ryan's song L.I.L.Y. and 10 points ahead of the Girls Aloud. That means that she's already got her ticket to the international contest. According to the Sangrian fans her song is very addictive because after a while the listeners can't get the drums and her lovely voice out of their heads.

We wish you good luck, Linda! :cheer:
