The BuzzJack Friday Chart Show Thread: 13th February 2026
Yes @ triple Bad Bunny in the top 20 *_* "Stateside" going top 10 too As well as Taylor at #1! "Opalite" is my favourite song from the album so happy it got a week at #1. It's been so nice to see such a high turnover at #1 so far this year - here's to hoping that continues!

I mean it recently got a fairly noticable boost thanks to Bruno and the song is already one of the most streamed songs of all time. Not like it needed another boost tbh so glad to see it not getting boosted again! Bad Bunny for #1 on Friday please...! Unlikely I know. I hope he holds up very well the rest of the week to climb into the top 5. The global numbers are insane - "DtMF" did ~16.5 million globally (5.7 million in US alone!). One of the highest non-Christmas streaming peaks and the highest peak for a latin song (overtakes Shakira's 14.4m for "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53").

To think it's not until next year that Olivia's album will get grammy noms/likely wins. The era is going to have legs. Hopefully they push 4-5 singles in the US.

Friday Chart Predictions
Just noticed she had a new album yesterday! It has some nice tracks, a shame it's out of the top 40. Fingers crossed it stays top 100 - I don't believe she's had an album chart in the official chart before!
-
Holly Humberstone - To Love Somebody
Just came across this - really nice! Will have to check out more of her work and her next album when it releeases.

Harry Styles - Aperture
Envoirment posted a post in a topic in Harry Styles and One Direction's Harry Styles and One DirectionHonestly I love it. I've really been into Indie-pop/electronic music the last year. Wasn't expecting Harry to release a track along those vibes! Gives me Robyn vibes as well.

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
Can't wait! *_* Hoping it'll be an easy #1 album and we'll get the 2nd single soon. I think her main competition will be Harry Styles' album? It's releasing March 6th but I'm sure it'll have a really strong first few weeks or so. I believe his previous album was doing 25-30k still on its 4th week. I'm hoping RAYE will improve on her last album which did ~16k first week. Surely she'll clear 30k this time round?

Jessie Ware - I Could Get Used to This
Really enjoy this after a couple listens!

Friday Chart Predictions
Come on Dave & Tems *_* I love Tems' voice, so happy to see her in contention for a #1 hit!

Estimated ACR status updates 2026
When you look globally "Chanel" has taken off in a big way compared to "PUSH 2 START" - much higher peaks in many countries. It's also finally rising on US radio so things are looking good there (hoping it'll become her 2nd hot 100 top 40 hit!). I hope it can hang around the charts in the UK or dodge ACR this upcoming week.

Pretty much guarenteed at this point as the video effect has been so big I would say it has a good chance of top 15 or even top 10 if it keeps rising! Zara also starting to rise up/get support on Amazon. "Midnight Sun" at #76 & "Stateside" at #81.

PinkPantheress - Stateside
Hopefully the video helps it climb into the top 20!

Great to see lots more Bruno still climbing *_* Bruno reaches a new peak of #6 on Apple Music & #10 on Amazon. Also "Stateside" is climbing a bit on Apple - up to a new peak of #35. I think it got some more playlist support with the Friday playlist updates!

Yes @ the Bruno surge! Rising everywhere globally on spotify too *_* Apple Music #8. "I Just Might" #32. "Die With A Smile" #45. "APT." #57. "Locked Out of Heaven" #89. "Just the Way You Are" #98. "When I Was Your Man" #124. "24K Magic" #193. "Marry You" Amazon #11. "I Just Might" #67. "Die With A Smile" (+194) #91. "Just the Way You Are" I believe those are new peaks for "I Just Might" on both platforms.

The Official Labour Calmer Steering Thread (mk III)
I think part of it was due to the way it would be implemented with a potential cost to people - despite people already having paid for valid ID in the form of passports etc. I think this U-Turn is generally good and it doesn't negate the digitalisation of ID as current forms of identification are to move online by 2029. So it's still happening in a way that doesn't disrupt people?

OPINION POLLS 2024-2029
Sadly I have a gut feeling that things will go back to the usual Con vs Lab by the time of the next election with the Green & Lib Dems losing ground in the coming years. I'm hoping reform holds on enough (ew) to split enough votes from the conservatives to push the seats in favour of Labour/Green/Lib Dems (+Plaid/SNP) for the next election.
-
The Tory culture war on truth thread (mk IV)
Kemi is polling better than she has in favourability and I saw a recent poll which put all party leaders against each other and she came out top against everyone... We might just see reform drop like a lead balloon with a conservative come back. I'm hoping not enough to prevent the vote split between reform & cons!

To be fair I would say it's only in the last few years or so that a lot of African music has (finally) been charting properly after years of being underrepresented. So it isn't entirely surprising. I feel it'll be similar to the likes of KPop where initially a lot of work is needed with English-speaking features etc before it then smashes out the gate in its own right with big artists/heavy hitters. Also as various African countries continue to develop economically, there will be a bigger impact on streaming services like Spotify. Similar to what's happened with Asia where Spotify expanded into rapidly in from the middle 10s/early 20s which has helped with crossover of hits I feel as some of the biggest global songs on Spotify sometimes start with big streams in other parts of the world which then gets them more general playlisting support elsewhere like Today's Top Hits etc.

Also to add Dave's youtube views have increased nicely this week with the release of the music video. For 11-12/1, Dave did ~500k views vs Djo's ~200k. Perhaps Dave will be in with a good chance next week - I don't think he'll be able to catch Djo this week.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 09/01/26
Ah thank you! They have a 30 day free trial so I might have a look. I do know there are 3 charts. The free chart excludes all explicit versions of songs (if you don't have Amazon Prime or Amazon Music) which makes it seem a lot of songs are higher than they should be. The 2nd chart is the one if you have Amazon Prime but not Amazon Music which includes explicit versions of songs but doesn't combine them all (riddled with lots of songs with multiple versions). Then the final one is if you're a member of Amazon Music. But the chart is weird in the way it works - I've seen similar to what you've mentioned with songs disappearing then reappearing. A few months ago the chart looked like it reverted back to the early 2010s with Adele's "Someone Like You" back at #2 and lots of old songs around.

The Online Safety Act
Just to add - reports are that Starmer is working with Canada & Australia to try to coordinate a ban with other countries to have a bigger impact. Would be great to see multiple countries ban it together.

New Jessie?! Excited!
