2025 BPI Certifications
Natalie Cole - "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" Love to see this go platinum! The Dida Ritz lip sync has definitely had a positive effect on the streaming of this song over the years (as well as being a great song)! It's gaining certifications quicker as well - Silver in 2020, gold in 2023 now Platinum in 2025. Might see a 2x platinum by the end of the decade. The Veronicas - "Untouched" Great to see this go platinum as well! Can't believe it's been over 14 years since release. Christina Perri - "you are my sunshine" Such a random silver certification for Christina! Part of a lullaby album. Looking into it more it went viral in 2024 "The song became associated with a viral internet meme in 2024, after it was part of a video featuring NBA player LeBron James, in which Christina Perri's cover of the song is played over a heavily edited portrait photo of James, intended to mock obsessive and defensive fans of James, framing him as their sunshine". But honestly Christina sounds so beautiful on it! Likely going to become the best-selling/streamed version of the song.

The warm/sunny weather and possibly autoplay causing some shenanigans it seems! Some highlights on spotify: #4. Billie Eilish - "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" #91. Calvin Harris - "Feels So Close" (I think this has been going viral a bit? Has a peak of #70 on spotify so not far off its peak currently!) #125. Sean Paul - "Temperature" #129. Taylor Swift - "Cruel Summer" #153. Calvin Harris - "Summer" #167. Mr. Probz - "Waves (Robin Schulz Remix Radio Edit)" I'm thinking Billie is benefitting a little from the sunny weather as well. "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" is up ~25-30k streams week/on week. I wonder how big of an effect her tour will have - maybe challenge for the #1 on spotify again if there isn't a big hit at the time? Great to see Miley recovering as well! A small Amazon Update of newer songs for those interested: #2. Chappell Roan - "The Giver" #6. Ed Sheeran - "Azizam" #7. Sabrina Carpenter - "Busy Woman" #15. WizTheMc & bees & honey - "Show Me Love" #27. Calvin Harris - "SMOKE THE PAIN AWAY" #33. Benson Boone - "Sorry I'm Here For Somene Else" #41. Ariana Grande - "Twilight Zone" #47. Ely Oaks - "Running Around" #62. Miley Cyrus - "End Of the World" #95. Lola Young - "Conceited" (performed it on Jimmy Kimmel recently & B-listed on Radio 1, think it's the next single from her album - would like to see this do something!) #96. sombr - "back to friends"

Estimated ACR status updates 2025
Now that's a dire looking ACR status list ☹️And Benson avoiding again! And I thought "The Sound Of Silence" was on ACR? Didn't realise they dodged a week or so ago or got another reset

RPDR | US | Season 17
Just seen the preview and Kori Toot makes a brief appearance on TV Liam Kori may fufil the prophecy! Could you imagine Suzie Toot vs Kori Toot?

SPOILERS | RPDR | US
I hope Lucky Slays both their lip syncs and the 2nd one being lost is just because it was a very close one!
-
SPOILERS | RPDR | All Stars
The track record look so messy lol. Honestly I'm just here to see Irene top 2 3 weeks in a row and no bottom placements, such a redemption from her season! One of if not the best performance a first out has ever produced on an All Stars season? It is quite predictible. But in one way given the 4 top 2s of Ginger I'm sure she's going to slay it. Plus they haven't had a big girl win before so I think this is likey going to be heavily tipped in Ginger's favour.

The Posters' Chart: 6th April 2025
I think that's a new peak for me (IIRC my previous peak is #24)! Can I become a top 20 hit in the next chart? *.*

Let's Eat Grandma - I'm All Ears
I very recently came across Let's Eat Grandma and have to say I'm addicted to this album. So many great tracks. "Whitewater", "Hot Pink", "It's Not Just Me" and perhaps my favourite track "Donnie Darko". I never thought I would love an 11 minute song so much!! I realise this is reviving a rather old thread but think this album deserves it!

Interesting to see "Bluest Flame" reaching a new peak on spotify! I've been seeing it used on social media recently and it's quite catchy - happy to see Selena may actually get a decent hit out of it! I think it might sneak into the top 40 in tomorrow's chart - it was #46 on the Monday update and has been gaining on spotify throughout the week.

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
Well that didn't last. 104% tariffs on some Chinese goods from tonight with market going lower. Certainly will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

Great to see Miley re-enter quite high - makes me think she was just outside the top 200 the last couple days. She reaches a new peak of #36 on Apple. Glad to see Janet top 200 in the UK! I wonder if she'll be able to chart in the top 100 again (she's up to a new peak of #151 on US now too!). She should get an automatic reset I believe if she improves/climbs more as the week goes on. She's now appearing on Amazon at #148! She's been added to a couple playlists on Amazon including Viral Hits.

It's been going viral the last couple weeks, would love to see it chart in the UK! Janet's streams are honestly quite shocking for her discography - her songs should be much higher! Hoping "Someone to Call My Lover" going viral will increase streams/interest in the rest of her catalogue! Shame to see Miley not back in the top 200. Hoping Monday's update she will be when newer songs tend to rise. On the plus side she's up to a new peak of #38 on Apple and #56 on Amazon! Ed is also up to a new peak of #11 on Amazon and #2 on Apple!

Estimated ACR status updates 2025
Glad to see we'll have a mini-clear out but shame Teddy is back on SCR as much as I do like "Bad Dreams"! Looks like we're going to have to wait a good few more weeks until we have another substantial clear-out. Hopefully Benson will got to ACR at least in a couple weeks.

The Tory culture war on truth thread (mk IV)
Badenoch saying it's right of Israel to deny entry to two Labour MPs. Her comments have been met with disdain across parties including from within the Tory party. I feel it's only a matter of time until she undergoes a leadership challenge.

SPOILERS | RPDR | US
Suzie getting her redemption from missing the finale *_* And omg Kori becoming Kori Toot for the final lip sync would be, in the worlds of Bob the Drag Queen, WILD.

Miley out of the top 200 2nd day? Even with HHUK/TTH support? 😭 Was not expecting that big of a drop. On some slightly more positive news she reaches new peaks on Apple at #39 and Amazon at #62. Really hoping that fall out of the top 200 was some sort of oddity/glitch and she'll be back in tomorrow.

Was a nice epsiode. Glad to see Jewels get 1 more win before the finale. Also Suzie rightly going home, she was quite bad as was Sam. Sam kinda ate the lipsync.

Will any artist ever debut at number 1 in the singles chart again?
For Olivia it was with "Good For You". Apologies my reading comprehension failed me. Edit: Kim Petras technically with "Unholy" being her first single to chart in the UK charts as well.

Will any artist ever debut at number 1 in the singles chart again?
We've had various songs blowup and debut at #1 in the 2020s though? Not as many as before but still quite a number. Off the top of my head Olivia Rodrigo - "Driver's Licence", Miley Cyrus - "Flowers", Ed Sheeran - "Bad Habits" & "Shivers", Harry Styles - "As It Was". It's definitely less common due to the nature of the chart now, but yes we will definitely have more #1 debuts in future.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 04/04/25
For context: Miley - "Used To Be Young" #8 debut global with 3.9 million filtered streams. Ed - "Eyes Closed" #23 debut global with 3.1 million filtered streams. Ed - "American Town" #81 debut global with 1.6 million filtered streams. Forgot how big "Used To Be Young" debuted with. Hoping Miley will stay stable/might climb. Big improvement for Ed on "American Town" but a bit below "Eyes Closed" when filtered. Ed #13 on Amazon and Miley #92 now.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 04/04/25
Taking into account explicit versions: Ed is #15 on Amazon & Miley #127. Really good start for both on Amazon, particularly Ed. Hoping Miley will start increasing a bit more on Apple. I'm thinking Ed debuts top 5 and Miley top 20 based on Apple/Amazon, unless they grow/gain quite a bit in the coming couple days or the spotify numbers are much bigger than Apple/Amazon.

Miley Cyrus - Something Beautiful
